Take note; you are directed to reciprocally engage in war in the cause of Allah the Exalted with those people who wage war against you people - state.
But you people should not transgress limits / reasonableness.
Remain mindful that Allah the Exalted does not appreciate and approve for nearness those who transgress-go beyond prescribed limits-rationality.
[And in the cause of Allah engage with those only who have waged war against you people] and fight with them wherever they confront you in combat and drive them out from the place; Mecca [with reference to the point in time] from where they had driven you out.
And spreading chaos/irritation-disturbance-disquiet-intellectual deflections/dismembering unity and harmony/liquefying the community is a far greater-serious matter than the individual murder.
[reverting from parenthetic to the main point] And you should avoid war in the precincts of Sacred Mosque till such time that they attack you within it.
Subject to attack upon you it is not disrespect to the sanctity of Sacred Mosque, you fight them back.
This is the response-return for disbelievers.
If in response to your retaliation they desist a full fledged war you also ignore the offensive.
Remember; Allah the Exalted is indeed Oft-forgiving-overlooking faults, the Merciful. [2:192]
And if they resist not you reciprocally fight with them conclusively till tumult no more remains and the System-Code of Conduct prevails exclusively for Allah the Exalted.
For reason of defeat-surrender if they desist-end hostility, thereat, not at all violent attitude is allowed except requital upon those who are held guilty of oppression-war criminals.
