Prefixed conjunction فَ which shows cause/reason and effect + Demonstrative pronoun; dual; masculine. (1)28:32=1                             حرف فَ +  اسم الإشارة

ذَا It is a noun of indication, properly meaning This.

[اللام للبعد والكاف للخطاب]

Singular; Masculine; it is used to refer, draw attention, indicate or introduce something or person to the addressee.

كَ : It is for the person being addressed, singular, second person; masculine.

In Arabic the demonstrative pronoun is determined by the number and gender of the noun/adjective they introduce.

A demonstrative pronoun indicates towards a thing and this reference diverts and focuses the attention of the addressee towards the pointed thing, giving that thing a peculiarity/individuality. Any thing that is focused upon, comes into the vision. And any thing which is in the reach of the vision and has since been perceived is no more distant irrespective of its distance from the addressee. Thus demonstrative pronoun: literally means "This is that/ because/the reason....."

is a  combination of two words, one pointing towards a nominated Book, it literally means introducing a particular/peculiar book,

This is that book, or here is that book

The Laa'm in ذلك refers an indication pointing towards a comparatively distant object.
The speaker uses the demonstrative pronouns at the start of speech only to point out and introduce to the listener and focus his attention on the distant object. And oral pointation may have parallel action of his hand rising towards the direction of that distant thing.
And if he uses a distant demonstrative pronoun after giving detailed information about anything or person, it gives an emphasis which makes that earlier statement a detailed introduction of the subject.

English "that" indicate somebody or something that has already been mentioned or identified or something that is understood by the speaker and listener.

Demonstrative pronouns are definite in Arabic pointing to a specific, known object or person or concept. Therefore in this Ayah, I preferred to translate it as "This is that Book", "that" referring to its predicate which gives information about its contents which are still distant for the reader since he has not yet read those.
In normal practice an author introduces his book and highlights salient features of it to the reader/audience.
I tried to convey it starting from First Ayah Alif Laam Meem, introducing the Book.

and then peculiarity/individuality/news/predicate is told:

within whom/which there is absolutely no suspicious/conjectural/whimsical/un-certain/ perplexing/ disconcerting/ illusory  matter/statement. [Refer 2:02]

has been used only once in the Grand Qur'aan, in the beginning to introduce it to the humanity.

And then after narrating the peculiar feature of the Grand Qur'aan has been used to tell this:

This [the Book whose peculiarities are just mentioned] is The Guidance of Allah,

He guides with/through [source of guidance] this Book that person/whoever wishes/desires guidance. [Refer 39:23, In time and space the source of guidance is same for all the people who are to be judged as is told at other places:]

[Same pronouncement in same words in 10:49]

For each and every generation [nation, group of people] is an appointed term of time with a terminating moment. [Refer 7:34]

o

For each and every period/era/moment there exists/existed a book. [Refer 13:38]

[Read with 6:131;11:117;26:208;28:59]

And We did not annihilate any locality except that for her was a known Book [sent by Us]. [15:04]

The Book which is introduced to the humanity is later called    in 6:19; 10:37;43:31 and in 12:03;17:09;25:30;27:76;59:21 and in 17:41,88,89;18:54;30:58;39:27 "This particular Grand Qur'aan". is a demonstrative pronoun for singular masculine noun which refers to a near object, or to that which is in hand and is being introduced/shown to others or towards which their attention is being invited.

This is going to be a bit difficult to try to explain to you but I will try. The demonstratives in Arabic in short are dhalika, hadhaa and dhaa. Variations of these based on tense and gender are u'laa, haa-ulaa', hadhaan, tilka, hadhihi and dhee.

As you can see what all  of the first three have in common  is 'dhaa.' This is the root of these demonstratives. We find in the Quran also dhaalikum, dhalikumaa and even dhalikunna.

I will explain why. the lika or dhalika is from laka (to/for you). The haa on the front of hadhaa is what is called haa at-tanbih. or the haa of attention. In Arabic there really is no difference between this and that. Even in English the two can sometimes be interchangeable.  When you take a Modern Arabic class you learn that hadhaa means this and dhalika means that, but this is a ridiculous oversimplification. Especially when you start reading older texts and read the Quran seriously.

In short hadhaa can mean this or that, and dhalika can also mean this or that. Hadhaa is typically used for closer objects in Modern Arabic but you will see the rule broken in the Quran and in older texts. So 'dhaa' means 'what is in sight.' So, 'the book in sight' is dhaal-kitaabu. 'hadhaa' means 'Lo! what is in sight' so 'hadhaal-kitaab' 'Lo!The book in sight.' and dhalika is more like 'what is in your sight.'  Again all of this is very literal, but helps to communicate the lack of any real difference between dhalika and hadhaa. This is beyond your basic Arabic, so if you can't see what I mean you don't have to argue me down. Just consider me crazy. It wouldn't be the first time.

الكاف اسم بمعنى مثل في محل نصب نائب مفعول مطلق؛ لأنه نعت لمصدر محذوف، والتقدير: يُحيي الله الموتى إحياء مثل ذلك الإحياء،

"Ka" which is commonly reckoned a preposition, is really not so. It is a formally undeveloped noun, which occurs only as the governing word in genitive connection. but runs in this position through all the relations of case [similitude, instar] [Wright Arabic Grammer Vol-1]
