o

And came [to Egypt] the brothers of Yu'suf [alai'his'slaam], for reason/then they entered upon him, whereupon/for reason he recognized them and he remained for them non familiar/unrecognized. [12:58]

And when he/Yu'suf got ready/uploaded their merchandise [food grains on camels]

he said to them, "You people come to me next time with one who is brother for you from your father [in the name of whom you wanted to take an extra camel load of grains].

o

Do you not see that I give full measure and I am best of the hosts. [12:59]

o

Then [since you have claimed another brother of yours for whom you wanted to get extra camel load] if you do not come to me next time with him, then for reason there will be no measure for you people from me nor you people will come/allowed near me". [12:60]

They said, "We will incline his father for his departure and indeed we will certainly do it for the first time [to prove you we were truthful in our claim/request for extra grains]" [12:61]

And he/Yu'suf imperatively said/told his servants/officials of the grain depot, "You people place their paid capital stock in their saddlebags;

o

so that they find/recognize that when they face/confront their household; for the purpose that they might return" [become our permanent clients] [12:62]

Accordingly when they returned to their father they said,

"O our father! One measure has been denied to us [for reason of his absence-one man one camel load of grains is the principle followed for sale], therefore send with us our brother so that we could get the measure

o

and indeed we will certainly be for him the protectors". [12:63]

He replied [sarcastically], "Should I entrust him to you except like I trusted you earlier/aforetime about his brother?

For reason [of omnipresence]/but Allah is the best Protector;

and He is the most merciful of the merciful". [12:64]

And when they opened their baggage they found their capital stock had been returned to them.

They said, "O our father! what else should we desire. This is our capital stock which has been returned to us.

And we will acquire provision for our household and we will protect our brother and we will get one excess camel load of grains.

o

Getting that measure would be easy" [12:65]

He said, "I will never send him along with you until you give me a solid pledge by Allah that you will certainly bring him back to me

except that you are circumvented/made helpless".

Accordingly when they had given him their solemn pledge,

he said, "Allah is the witness upon what we are saying [and undertaking]" [12:66]

And he advised, "O my sons, you people should not enter through one entrance instead you enter through different entrances/doors [of the city],

and I cannot avail you nothing of any thing which is from Allah

[Same pronouncement in same words 6:57;12:40]

since decision/commanding the matters is indeed for none except Allah.

[Same pronouncement in same words in 9:129;11:88;13:30;42:10]

Upon Him I place reliance and dependence

[Similar pronouncement in 14:12]o

 And upon Him therefore the ones who entrust to others should place reliance and dependence" [12:67]
