They publicly belied the Aa'ya'at of their Sustainer Lord, consequentially [on expiry of grace period] We annihilated them for reason of their persistent sins and We drowned the Pharaoh-folk [army equipped with arms, in Gulf of Suez]. o And they all were distorters/evil mongers/creators of imbalances/in equations. Indeed, in the sight of Allah the worst/irksome of the animals are those who deliberately and persistently refused to accept/believe. Then/for reason they do not believe, [8:55]
those from them with whom you, the Messenger [Sal'lallaa'hoalaih'wa'salam] made agreements, afterwards they violate/break their commitments each and every time and they fear not Allah. [8:56]
Therefore if you gain dominance over them in the war then disintegrate with them those who are behind them so that they remember/take heed. [8:57]
And if you apprehend betrayal of agreement by a tribe/folk then throw back/terminate the agreement with them on equal terms and conditions. Indeed Allah does not approve those for nearness/ association/linkage who are the betrayers. [8:58] [Mode of termination-Read 9:01-05]
And let not those who have refused to accept/believe suppose that they have taken a lead. Indeed they cannot frustrate/incapacitate [the believers]. [8:59]
And you people prepare for them the force and strength whatever is possible for you and from cavalry/mobile troops, [with this preparedness] you deter with this deterrence the enemy of Allah and your enemy
and others apart from them whom you people do not recognize; Allah knows them.
[Similar pronouncement in 2:272] And whatever you spend from better substance in the cause of Allah He will give/pay back to you

And if they are inclined for peace [treaty] then you the Messenger [Sal'lallaa'hoalaih'wa'salam] respond affirmatively for it [Same advice in same words in

Verse
26:220]o Indeed He is the eternally All-Hearing, the All-Knowing. [8:61]
And if they intend that they deceive you, the Messenger [Sal'lallaa'hoalaih'wa'salam after the peace treaty] then in that case indeed Allah suffices for you. o He is the One Who strengthened you with His help and with the believers. [8:62]
And He has put affection and love between their hearts.
If you had spent whatever wealth is in the Earth all collectively you could not place love and affection between their hearts, but Allah has put love and affection between them. o Indeed He is The All Pervasive/Dominant and eternally The Wise/Knower of invisible/ secreted/infolded. [8:63]
O you the Elevated and Chosen One [Muhammad Sal'lallaa'hoalaih'wa'salam], Allah suffices for you and he from amongst the declarative believers who physically followed you in letter and spirit without in between there being third party. [8:64]
