Nay! I swear by this City [Mecca], [90:01]

and you, the Messenger [Muhammad Sal'lallaa'hoalaih'wa'salam] are popular resident of this City, [90:02]

and a father and that who is fathered, [90:03]

[Read in conjunction 95:04]

it is a certain fact that We have created the Man in a balanced proportion for struggle. [90:04]

Has he presumed/thought that no one will ever have restrictive control upon him? [90:05]

[One Day] He will say, "I have destroyed the firmly held abundant wealth". [90:06]

Has he presumed/thought that no one sees him? [90:07]

Have We not made for him/man two eyes [90:08]

And one tongue and two lips? [these are main articulators that produce recognizable words] [90:09]

And We have since pointed out to him two conspicuous ways? [the path of obedient and criminals] [90:10]

For reason he did not incline himself to intensively exert to force his way into the Exterior [of disastrous circle]. [90:11]

And what is that which will give you the perception of synonymy of the Exterior. [90:12]

It is a voluntary grant of proclamation of freedom for an obligated/subservient person; [90:13]

or arranging and supplying cooked food in the day characterized by fatigue and hunger, [90:14]

orphan of near relationship; [90:15]

or the indigent in a dilapidated condition. [90:16]

Afterwards they remained from amongst those who believed

and they enjoined others and remained coolly perseverant and steadfast

and they enjoined others and remained compassionate. [90:17]

They are the companions of the group "Right Handed". [90:18]

And those who persistently refused to accept/believe they are the companions of the group "Left Handed". [90:19]

Upon them is the Fire/Heat which is hidden/closed/wrapped in [the fuel]. [90:20]
