مقاييس اللغة
الحاء والصاد والحرف المعتل
ثلاثة أصول: الأول المنع، والثاني العَدُّ والإطاقة، والثالث شيءٌ من أجزاء
الأرض
That it has three
significations, firstly to prevent, barring; secondly numeration, count,
aggregate and endurance, and thirdly something of the parts of the
Earth.
Lane's Lexicon:
He numbered, counted, calculated, reckoned, or
computed, it: or he reached the last number thereof:
or he collected it into an aggregate by numbering:

And He the Exalted
has granted you people partly of
everything that you people asked Him,
-
And if you people
attempt to count the favours-things of benefit granted/created by
Allah the Exalted you would not be able to aggregate them.

[Despite innumerable favours]
Indeed the man, generally speaking,
[majority of them]
is certainly distorter of realities and equations, falsifier and persistently
denying and disavowing ingrate. [14:34]

It is certain that We alone give and resurrect
life to the dead;
-
And We keep recording in writing what they have
sent forward [during their life] and the effects/traces-legacy they
have left behind.
Take note that We have
elaborately enumerated in writing every thing in the Manifest Book
[when it will be opened people will read and
say nothing has been left out from recording-18:48]. [36:12]
