1005] stated:
(مقاييس اللغة)
الثاء والواو والباء قياسٌ صحيحٌ من أصلٍ واحد،
وهو العَوْدُ والرُّجوع.
يقال ثاب يثُوب إذا
رَجَع.
That it leads to the basic
perception of returning and reverting to from where one had left.
It denotes collection of water in the well after water had been drawn from it.
It reflects the act of returning to original state or position. It is used
to describe human dress/clothing composed of different garments meant to
cover his entire body.
The same is the perception with human clothing which is infolded in the
Root. The moment man wears his dress comprising clothing he returns to
the original state he was in before being deceived by the Satan.
A ditch/well to which water returns; stones staked upon top of one
another; to return, to come back, to come to a gathering; a place of
gathering, resort; garments, clothes, reward, recompense.
