التاء والراء والفاء كلمة واحدة، وهي التُّرْفَة. يقال
رجلٌ مُترفٌ مُنَعَّمٌ، وتَرَّفَهُ أهلُه
إذا نعمّوه بالطَّعام الطّيِّب والشيء يُخَصُّ به
That it signifies to live in great luxury, live in
opulent comfort, affluence.

through the Messenger

her; thereat, they
purposely
transgressed therein;

promised proposition became incumbent upon them. Consequently, Our
Majesty destroyed her, a destruction by forceful entrance.

The ruling elite—chieftains of his nation; who
had refused
to accept-believe—said to people;

And had publicly contradicted the
meeting-accountability in the Hereafter,
-
And We had made them the ruling elite
enjoying luxurious life in this lowly world;

"This man is but an ordinary human like you people;

He eats out of that from which you
people eat, and he drinks out of that which you people drink. [23:33]
