Ibn Faris [died 1005] stated:

(مقاييس اللغة)

الْقَافُ وَالصَّادُ وَالدَّالُ أُصُولٌ ثَلَاثَةٌ، يَدُلُّ أَحَدُهَا عَلَى إِتْيَانِ شَيْءٍ وَأَمِّهِ، وَالْآخَرُ عَلَى اكْتِنَازٍ فِي الشَّيْءِ.

That it leads to the perception of doing something and its purpose/objective, and it signifies being firm in some matter.

  • Know it; Had they in time and space remaining faithful to their pledge enforced, implemented and stood by At-Tor'aat; and likewise Al-In'jeel; and had they stood by that: Grand Qur’ān which has been compactly relayed towards them by their Sustainer Lord:

مطلع رہو؛ اگر ایسا ہوتا کہ انہوں نے تورات اور انجیل اور جو ان کی جانب مجتمع انداز میں(قرءان) ان کے رب نے  بطور مصدق اور فائز نازل فرما دیا ہے نافذ العمل مان لیا ہوتا:

  • Certainly they would have enjoyed nourishment from space above them and underneath their feet [in Paradise as per Articles of Agreement/Solemn Pledge-5:12, instead of facing scorching heat from below and above in Hell-Prison].

تو یقیناًاپنے اوپر سے اور اپنے پاؤں کے نیچے مقام سے کھاتے پیتے(باغات جنت میں  بجائے جہنم کی تپش کے۔المائدہ۔12)۔

  • Their composition: A fairly balanced rational group has existed and is present amongst them.

ایک اعتدال پر رہنے والی جماعت ان میں مختلف طرز فکر و عمل پر کاربند ہے۔

  • But majority of them are characteristically deviants; vile; abominable and evil way is how they conduct. [5:66]

مگر ان کی اکثریت کیا ہی برا ہے جو عمل وہ کرتے رہتے ہیں۔


 

  • Had the gain been in sight and the journey was for a moderate desirable purpose: indeed they (Muna'fi'qeen- Imposter believers) would have happily followed you; but the schism made it seem distant for them.

اگر کوئی مفاد قریب الحصول ہوتا اور سفر مختصر اور اس مقصد سے ہوتا تو یہ حقیقت  ہےکہ انہوں (منافقین)نے آپ(ﷺ) کے پیچھے ساتھ ہو لینا تھا۔مگر معلوم پرمشقت مقصد سفر نے ان پر مسافت کو بہت دور بنا دیا۔

  • And they (Muna'fi'qeen- Imposter believers) will say [seeking exemption from participation in war] swearing by Allah:  "Had we been able we would have indeed come out and gone along with you people"; taking this stance they fatally harm/destroy their selves

اور آپ لوگوں کی واپسی پر عنقریب اللہ تعالیٰ کی قسم اٹھا کر یقین دلانے کی کوشش کریں گے یہ کہہ کر’’اگر ہم میں استطاعت ہوتی تو لازماً آپ لوگوں کے ساتھ نکلے ہوتے‘‘۔ایسا کرتے ہوئے وہ اپنے ہی نفوس کو تلف کرتے ہیں۔

  • Since Allah the Exalted fully knows that they are indeed liars. [9:42]

متنبہ رہو؛ اللہ تعالیٰ بخوبی جانتے ہیں، حقیقت یہ ہے کہ یہ لوگ(منافقین)اصل میں ہیں ہی جھوٹے۔


  • Take note, the direction of the Course-High road is incumbent upon Allah the Exalted to manifest for people. But a wanderer - deviant journeys away from it.

  • Know it, had He the Exalted so willed, He would have certainly led you, all together, on the determined path. [but that was not the scheme/purpose of creation]. [16:09]


  • And you be moderate in your pace and you lower the pitch of your sound

  • Since it is a fact that more unpleasant and non-familiar of the sounds is certainly the sound produced by the donkey." [31:19]

  • And the moment waves wrapped over them like the overshadowing canopies

  • They called upon Allah the Exalted, acting as sincere devotees-allegiant in conduct for Him the Exalted.

  • In response to their prayers, when He the Exalted rescued them surviving and safe towards the land-shore, thereat some of them make themselves moderate.

  • Take note that none denies deliberately and publicly about Our Aa'ya'at-Verbally communicated passages except every ungratefully disobedient betrayer. [31:32]


  • Afterwards Our Majesty have made the inheritors of the Book/Grand Qur’ān those from Our allegiant subjects whom Our Majesty have chosen.

  • Thereat, amongst them is one who is unjustly evil for his person and amongst them is one who is moderate in conduct

  • And amongst them is one who takes foremost lead in good deeds with the permission of Allah the Exalted.
