Ibn Faris [died 1005] stated:

السين والياء والراء أصلٌ يدلُّ على مضيٍّ وجَرَيان، يقال سار يسير سيراً،

That it leads to the perception of proceeding, elapsing, passing and moving, streaming, journeying, traversing.

  • Therefore, to know and take lesson you people traverse in the world. Thereby, observe the fate [the remains/archaeological evidences] of them-as to what happened to those who publicly contradicted.  [3:137]

  • Thereafter, see and reflect upon the remains/archeological evidences to find as to what was the end of those who publicly contradicted [the Messengers and Aa'ya'at of Allah; and take heed/lesson].  [6:11]


  • Know it; Our Majesty never sent as the Messengers before you the Messenger [Sal'lallaa'hoalaih'wa'salam] but the Men whom We communicated verbal messages

  • They (the Messengers) were living amongst the residents of certain cities.

  • Is it for reason that they have not traversed in the world/land

  • Whereby they might see the remains/archaeological evidences as to what was the end of those who were before them [and take heed/lesson].

  • Be cognizant, the Home of the Hereafter  is the best for the people who endeavoured to attain salvation.

  • Is this neglecting the Hereafter for reason that you use not intellect to differentiate? [12:109]


  • Know the history, Our Majesty did appoint in every nation a Messenger for conveying and directing them:

  • That, "You people be exclusively subservient-allegiant to Allah the Exalted.

  • And diligently refrain-avoid the defiant, refractory wanderer."

  • Thereby, Allah the Exalted guided aright a group of them

  • And heedless straying by wilful design was established against other group of them.

  • Therefore, to know and take heed/lesson, you people traverse in the Land

  • Thereat, observe the remains-archaeological evidences as to what was the end of those who publicly contradicted the Messengers and message of Allah the Exalted. [16:36]


  • Is it for reason that they have not traversed in the world - land [seeing archaeological evidence of past history]

  • Whereby the hearts may become visionary for them that they could with it reflect to differentiate - draw conclusion;

  • Or ears become such that with them they could truly listen [the facts of past being narrated to them].

  • [they do not respond] Thereby, the fact is that it were not "the vision: neurological signals stored in memory after interpretation of the image seen" that become blind but it are the hearts, which are in the chests, that become blind.  [to recall/retrieve/again see the stored fact]. [22:46]


  • You the Messenger [Sal'lallaa'hoalaih'wa'salam] pronounce, "You people traverse in the world/land

  • Thereby see [the remains/archeological evidences] as to how was the end of the criminals". [who publicly contradicted the Messengers and Aa'ya'at of Allah]. [27:69]


  • Thereafter, when Mūsā [alai'his'slaam] exhausted the determined period and travelled out with his household

  • He perceived presence of fire by the side of At-Tur: Mountain Range of Sinai

  • He said to his accompanying family, "You people [wife + at least two children with one certainly male] stay here

  • Indeed I have seen and perceived fire;  perhaps I will get back to you bringing some guiding information from there

  • Or I will bring you people burning wood from the Fire (it indicates that it was a cold night of winter) so that you may warm yourselves". [28:29]


  • You the Messenger [Sal'lallaa'hoalaih'wa'salam] pronounce, "You people traverse in the world/land

  • Thereby you people observe/watch how Allah the Exalted did originate creation

  • Afterwards [on Day of Resurrection] Allah the Exalted will raise the last raising

  • Indeed Allah the Exalted is eternally the Causality Determiner upon every and all things - to set them right-fix them in measure. [29:20]

  • یقیناًاللہ تعالیٰ ہر ایک شئے اور معاملے کو پیمانوں میں مقید کرنے پر ہمیشہ سے قادر ہیں۔


  • Is it that they have not traversed in the world/land [Read also with 12:109;22:46;40:82;47:10]

  • Whereby they may see the remains/archaeological evidences as to what was the end of those who were before them [and take heed/lesson].

  • They were mightier in power than them

  • And they ploughed the Earth and brought it under cultivation more than that which they have made it cultivable. [Read with 40:21,82]

  • And came to them their Messengers with manifestly evident signs/proofs

  • Then in consequence Allah the Exalted was not to do injustice to them

  • But in fact they kept doing injustice and harm to their own selves. [30:09]


  • You the Messenger [Sal'lallaa'hoalaih'wa'salam] pronounce, "You people traverse in the world/land

  • Then/for reason of the remains/archaeological evidences you people see as to what was the end of those who were in aforetimes

  • Most of them were those who worshipped sculpted idols ascribing them as partners of Allah the Exalted. [30:42]


  • And Our Majesty rendered many evident townships as stopover between them and between the City wherein Our Majesty had implanted blessing and We had proportioned therein the traversing passages/travel routes

  • [they were told] "You people traverse in them during nights and days quite safely." [34:18]


  • Is it that they have not traversed in the world/land [Read also with 12:109;22:46;40:82;47:10]

  • Whereby they may see the remains/archaeological evidences as to what was the end of those who were before them [and take heed/lesson].

  • They were mightier in strength than them

  • And nothing in the Skies nor in the Earth could ever frustrate Allah's Will and Command.

 

  • Indeed He the Exalted is All-Knower and has eternally the infinite power and control over each and every thing to keep it in bounds/limits/measure. [35:44]


  • Is it that they have not traversed in the world/land

  • Whereby they may see the remains/archaeological evidences as to what was the end of those who flourished before them [and take heed/lesson]

  • They were mightier than them with regard to strength

  • And in the matter of leaving impressions/monuments in the Earth

  • Thereat, Allah the Exalted seized them for reason of their persistent crimes.

  • And there was not a protector permitted by Allah the Exalted for them to save them. [40:21]


  • Is it for reason that they do not traverse in the world/land

  • Whereby they may see the remains/archaeological evidences as to what was the end of those who were before them [and take heed/lesson].

  • They were more than them and they were mightier than them with regard to strength

  • And in the matter of leaving impressions/monuments in the Earth.

  • Then, that which they had attained could not avail to avert anything from them. [40:82]


  • Is it for reason that they have not yet traversed in the world/land

  • Whereby they may see the remains/archaeological evidences as to what was the end of those who were before them; [and take heed/lesson]

  • Allah the Exalted destroyed by forceful entrance of infliction upon them

  • And for the Non-Believers are the precedents of those; [to take heed before it is too late] [47:10]


  • And the mountains will move, physically strolling. [52:10]


Form-II

  • He the Exalted is the One Who enables you people to traverse in the Land and the Sea.

  • For this purpose you people are at times on board the Ships

  • And the Ship sails carrying them (passengers) on board with pleasant breeze blowing, and while they rejoice the pleasant moments

  • Thereat, a wind overtook the Ship. One [masculine active participle] Twister who makes things revolve and spread is laden within her: Wind.

  • And the Wave reached them from all sides

  • And they apprehensively assessed that they have certainly been surrounded by it (waves) from all sides

  • They called upon Allah the Exalted, acting as sincere devotees-allegiant in conduct for Him the Exalted, praying:

  • "We swear that if You the Exalted rescued us from this life threatening situation, we will henceforth certainly remain obliged and grateful". [10:22]


  • Know it, if Qur’ān was such reading by which the mountains could have been moved or by it the Land could have cloven asunder or with it the dead could have conversed; they would still not have believed.

  • The fact is that the matter-affair-commanding is exclusively the domain for Allah the Exalted, all together.

  • Is it then for reason that those who have heartily believed have not yet lost hope [of their becoming believer-read with 2:75;10:99;12:103;16:37] that if Allah the Exalted had so willed certainly He would have guided the humanity, all collectively.

  • And some striking knocks of warning will not cease to those who have refused to believe in Qur’ān because of what they have artfully conjectured.

  • Or that disaster may liquefy/settle nearby their locality until the time of arrival of Allah's promise.

  • The fact remains that Allah the Exalted never violates the promise. [13:31]

  • یہ حقیقت ہے ،اللہ تعالیٰ دئیے ہوئے وعدے کی خلاف ورزی نہیں فرماتے۔


  • Know it, the Day Our Majesty will cause the removal of the mountains [converting them into sand]

  • And you will see the Earth plainly levelled.

  • And Our Majesty would have gathered them, thereby, We would not have left even a single individual behind. [18:47]


  • And the mountains would have been removed [converting them into sand levelling the Earth]; thereby she (Earth) would become mirage. [78:20]

Nouns

  • The pursuit of water-game and its consumption as meal is declared permissible for the benefit of you people and the crew - passengers traveling in the water reservoir.

  • But the pursuit of land-game so long you are on pilgrimage is forbidden upon you people.

  • And sincerely endeavour to attain the protection from Allah the Exalted; He the Exalted towards Whom you will be presented for accountability. [5:96]


  • A participant of discussion who was less emotional - eldest among them said; "You should not kill Yu'suf

  • Instead I direct you people to lower him into the bottom of the dry ditch/well

  • Some of the passing by caravan will pick him up (and take him to foreign land as one option you proposed-12:9)

  • Do like it, if you people have become determined to take the initiative." [12:10]


  • And there came a caravan. On spotting a well they sent their water-drawer/carrier to the well. Thereat, he lowered his bucket into the well.

  • [while lowering he saw into the well and spotted a child instead of water] He loudly called, "O good news! here is a minor boy."

  • And they, (the caravan merchants), hid him with intent-consideration of merchandize.

  • And Allah the Exalted is eternally All-Knower of what they people were doing. [12:19]


  • [He became afraid and ran away without looking behind, he was asked to turn back-28:31] He the Exalted said, "Hold her and you should not be afraid

  • Our Majesty will just revert her to its original condition/shape. [20:21]
