Ibn Faris-ابن فارس [died-1005] stated:
(مقاييس اللغة)
الرَّاءُ وَالْحَاءُ وَاللَّامُ أَصْلٌ وَاحِدٌ يَدُلُّ عَلَى مُضِيٍّ فِي سَفَرٍ.
That it leads to the perception of proceeding - route in a journey
Lane Lexicon : inf. n. رَحْلٌ, [He saddled the camel;] he bound, or put, the رَحْل upon the camel;
And he (Yu'suf) directed his servants-officials of the grain depot: "Place their paid capital-stock in their saddlebags;
