Root: ع و ج

Words from this Root in the Grand Qur'aan:

a) Total occurrences: 9

b) No of constructions: 4

Basic perception infolded in the Root is of something crooked, distorted, not straight or plain, or rightly aligned. And any affair which is not straight and plain seems and is felt difficult, arduous or troublesome and it causes confusion, disconcert and ambiguity in perceiving it.

  • And people enquire from you the Messenger [Sal'lallaa'hoalaih'wa'salam] about the mountains.

  • In response you pronounce, "My Sustainer Lord will blast them, as dust particles. [20:105]

  • Then He will leave them plains smooth and leveled;

  • Exactly leveled that you will not see - find therein crookedness - variation in alignment and curve - uneven surface". [20:107]

And when this word is used for negation of any crookedness with reference to a book it would obviously denote that the matter contained therein is void of conflicting, contradictory, disconcerting, confusing, illusory or delusory and unaligned substance which could cause difficulty in perceiving it straight and plain.

  • The Infinite Glory and Praise stands specified eternally and exclusively for Allah the Exalted.

  • He is the One Who has since gradually communicated the Book: Grand Qur'aan to His sincere allegiant [Muhammad Sal'lallaa'hoalaih'wa'salam].

  • And He the Exalted has not inserted for him any ambiguous, illusory, conflicting, contradictory, confusing, unaligned matter and statement in the Book. [18:01]

The Book the contents of which are void of  is qualitatively like a pillar erect on 90 degree angle. The absolute absence of: grants the Book the quality and characteristic of :

  • The Book contains firmly established, straight and stable [90 degree angle erect] facts so that he the Messenger [Muhammad Sal'lallaa'hoalaih'wa'salam] may warn of a severe punishment to be awarded by Him the Exalted [to those who refuse and avoid it]. [Refer 18:02]

  • This Qur'aan is in the state of a compilation having characteristic feature of text transcription in Arabic: a perspicuous, eloquent, distinctive and precisely expressive language; the language of the sons of soil of Arabian peninsula. The characteristic feature of the compiled text is that it is unlike those texts which contain illusory, delusory, conflicting, contradictory, confusing, unaligned verbal content.

  • The objective of such straight forward text is that they the people might become cautious, heedful, rational and mindful of guidance for all times/situations contained in Grand Qur'aan and could avoid unrestrained conduct. [39:28]
