Ibn Faris [died 1005] stated:

(مقاييس اللغة)

الغين والواو والراء أصلانِ صحيحان: أحدهما خُفوضٌ في الشَّيء وانحطاطٌ وتطامن، .فالأوَّل قولهم لقَعْر الشيء: غَوره.

That one of its signification is lowering, dropping in depth, devaluation in a thing  and decadence, degradation. Thereby means bottom, depth of a thing.

Lane Lexicon: He came to the غَوْر, (As, Fr, IAar, S, Msb, K,) i. e., low land or country

  • Should you people not help him the Messenger [Sal'lallaa'hoalaih'wa'salam], then know it Allah the Exalted did help him —

  • When he was consoling his companion by saying: "You should not grieve, indeed Allah the Exalted is everywhere with us".

  • Know it, the word and promise of Allah the Exalted is the one on the Top-it prevails, gets executed.

  • Be mindful, Allah the Exalted is Pervasively dominant and the Infinitely Just Supreme Administrator of the created realm, visible and invisible. [9:40]

  • اوراس حقیقت سے باخبر رہو؛ اللہ تعالیٰ  دائمی،ہر لمحہ،ہرمقام پرحتماً غالب ہیں۔ اور بدرجہ اتم انصاف پسند تمام موجود کائنات کے فرمانروا اور تمام پنہاں کو جاننے والے ہیں۔

  •  Had they found a refuge or caves, or any place of entrance they would certainly have escaped towards that —

  •  While they frantically runaway. [9:57]

  • Or its water might sunken deep beneath whereat you may never have the ability for finding it." [18:41]

  • You the Messenger [Muhammad Sal'lallaa'hoalaih'wa'salam] pronounce, "Have you seen/given it a thought that if the water of you people becomes sunken beneath, thereat who will bring to you the water of springs." [67:30]
