Ibn Faris [died 1005] stated:

(مقاييس اللغة)

الغين واللام والحرف المعتل أصلٌ صحيحٌ في الأمر يدلُّ على ارتفاع ومجاوَزةِ قَدْر.

That it leads to the perception of giving rise, increase, or ascension; and transgress, encroach upon, make inroads upon, going off the limit.

  • Infinitely Glorious is He the Exalted that His recognition and approval is the focus of all effort. He the Exalted is above weakness that presence of a son might be a need for Him the Exalted.

  • Whatever exists in the Skies and whatever exists in the Earth are subservient-dependant-subjects for Him the Exalted.

  • And Allah the Exalted alone suffices as the Guardian-Protector-Disposer of Affairs. [4:171]

  • You the Messenger [Sal'lallaa'hoalaih'wa'salam] admonish: "O you the people of the Book; listen! You should not transgress, make inroads within your Code of Conduct-life with other than fact conjectural fabricated myths

  • And you should not practice the conjectural sayings of the people: earlier generations who certainly went astray in aforetimes

  • And they made many neglectful and strayed; and they strayed away from the middle/straight path to destination. [5:77]
