Ibn Faris [died 1005] stated:

  • Afterwards, He the Exalted sent upon you the solace, after the frustrating event of anxiety, in the sort of rapid-eye-movement sleep that was overpowering a group amongst you.

  • بعد ازاں،ان جناب نے تم لوگوں پرسکون آوراونگھ کو طاری کیا اِس رنج کے بعد؛وہ تم میں سے ایک گروہ پر چھا نے لگی۔

  • And while another group got involved in self pondering. They were engaging their selves in contrary to fact presumptive thinking about Allah the Exalted. Their premise was the presumptive conjectures of the days of emotionalism:

  • جبکہ ایک دوسرے گروہ نے اپنے آپ کو اللہ تعالیٰ کی بابت حقیقت کے منافی گمان،جذبات اور شخصیت پرستی کے زمانہ[ جاھلیت] کے گمان کرتے ہوئے اِس گتھی کوسلجھانے کی فکر میں لگا ئے رکھا۔

  • They were talking amongst themselves: "Is there no discretion for us in any matter regarding any issue?"

  • وہ کہہ رہے تھے ”کیا کسی طرح کا بھی اختیار اِس معاملے میں ہماری صوابدید پر نہیں رہنے دیا گیاتھا؟“۔

  • You the Messenger [Sal'lallaa'hoalaih'wa'salam] pronounce: "The fact is that the matter, all in totality, rests exclusively for Allah the Exalted to decide and dispose off".

  • آپ(ﷺ) فرمائیں ”یقینامعاملہ،تمام کا تمام، اللہ تعالیٰ کے دائرہ اختیار میں ہے“۔

  • They were holding back to their selves that which they were not openly stating for you.

  • وہ اپنے دلوں میں وہ بات چھپارہے تھے جو آپ(ﷺ) پر ظاہر کرنا نہیں چاہتے تھے۔

  • [reverting to their mutual conjectural talk] They were saying: "Had there been some sort of discretion in the matter granted and left for us we would have not slain here."

  • وہ آپس میں یہ کہتے تھے”اگر اِس معاملے میں ہمارا کچھ بھی اختیار ہوتا تو ہم یہاں قتل نہ ہوتے“۔

  • You the Messenger [Sal'lallaa'hoalaih'wa'salam] pronounce: "Had you even stayed back in your houses those would have manifestly evidenced it in their bed rooms for whom information of being murdered had since been recorded."

  • آپ(ﷺ) بتائیں ”اگر تم اپنے گھروں میں ہوتے تو بھی جن لوگوں کے متعلق قتل ہونا لکھا ہوا ہے تو وہ اپنی خوابگاہوں میں بھی قتل ہو جاتے۔

  • And whatever has happened was for the reason that Allah the Exalted might bring out and expose that which was in your chests and purify from unwanted containments in your hearts.

  • اور (یہ اِس لئے بھی تھا) تا کہ اللہ تعالیٰ اسے ظاہر کر دیں جو کچھ تمہارے سینوں میں ہے اور(اِس آزمائش/فتنے /تپش میں سے گزار کر)کھوٹ/عیوب سے منزہ کرے جو تمہارے قلوب میں ہے۔

  • And remain cognizant that Allah the Exalted has the complete knowledge of that what is held in the chests. [3:154]

  •  کیونکہ اللہ  تعالیٰ مکمل علم رکھنے والے ہیں جوسینوں کے اندر پنہاں ہے“۔(آل عمران۔۱۵۴)


  • Indeed the Sustainer Lord of you people is Allah the Exalted Who had innovatively created the Skies and the Earth in a time duration of six days [reckoned outside your universe] —

  • Thereafter, He the Exalted ascended to the Supreme Sovereign Seat-Throne [beyond Skies of universe]

  • He the Exalted causes the night to wrap-veil the Day; the Night seeks the day, seemingly incessantly incited - in motion.

  • And He the Exalted created the Sun, the Moon and the Stars as objects subjected to set discipline by His Command.

Root: س خ ر

  • Unquestionably, the Primal Creation and the Command-Ordaining-organizing is the domain exclusive for Him the Exalted.

  • Allah the Exalted, the Sustainer Lord of the universes-all that exists, is the Omnipresent, the Perpetual, the Absolute. [7:54]


  • He the Exalted is Who created you people from an entity-person that acts as individual; retains individuality.

  • And He the Exalted rendered a part drawn from that person as his spouse-wife.

  • So that he might have the ultimate placidity, tranquillity, serenity with her.

  • Thereby, for seeking "tranquillity" when he (certain Husband), had copulated with her, (respective Wife); she invisibly carried-uplifted a light burden and she moved along with it.

  • Subsequently, [because of developing/expanding measures of fetus] when she became heavy; both called upon Allah the Exalted, their Sustainer Lord: "If You the Exalted gave us unblemished son, we will thenceforth be extremely obliged and grateful." [7:189]


  • Recall, When He the Exalted was causing the Rapid-Eye-Movement sleep overtake-overwhelm you people for the purpose of your attaining tranquillity —

  • And He the Exalted was gradually-intermittently flowing water from the Sky for the purposes of your cleansing with it; and that water may flush away from you the Satanic repulsive stain-adhesive —

  • And the purpose of intermittent raining was that it may cause refreshing and strengthening effect upon your hearts; and He the Exalted cause your feet to hold firmly on ground because of it —  [8:11]

  • And as regards those who earned evil deeds,  their punishment will be proportionate to the evil done.

  • And humiliation will overwhelm them —

  • Not at all a defender-defence counsel listed by Allah the Exalted will be there for them.

  • —[humiliation will overwhelm them] As if their faces had been veiled by patches of night, rendering them darkened black.

  • They are the people who will be the resident inmates of the scorching Hell-Prison.

  • They will abide therein permanently. [10:27]


  • Look at them! They fold their chests thinking that they might hide their duality from Him the Exalted.

  • The fact is that when they veil by their clothing; He the Exalted knows what they conceal and what they project.

  • Remain mindful;  He the Exalted is absolutely aware of what is possessed inside the chests. [11:05]


  • Is it for reason that they have felt secured that there might come the infliction by decree of Allah which encompasses/overwhelms —

  • Or the Determined Moment may come to them all of a sudden —

  • About which they have no idea-clue. [12:107]


  • And He the Exalted is the One Who spread, stretched the Earth —

  • And He the Exalted rendered the mountains as anchors and paths therein as water flows —

Mountains - Anchors were inserted in the Earth; an "imported" substance.   Root: ر س و

  • And He the Exalted rendered in all fruits a duality of pairing-families.

  • He the Exalted wraps, covers, veils the Day with the Night.

  • Indeed signs indicating the existence of the Creator and Setter of sciences are obvious in the aforementioned facts for the people who have the habit of reflecting objectively to arrive at the purpose of creation. [13:03]


  • Their garments-wearing will be made from pitch.

  • And the fire/scorching heat will veil their faces — [14:50]


  • Encouraged by having seen them safely crossed over to other side on floating dried bridge, Fir'aoun/Pharaoh followed their footsteps along with his troops —

  • Thereby, [for reason of collapse of bridge by resonance effect of soldiers walk] that from within the sea overarched them which submerged them in the Gulf of Suez; [20:78]


  • Or the similarity of their acts is like layers of progressing darkness within a sea. It has a swell-raised level of water at a point —

  • A Wave rises and covers the surface of sea —

  • A wave ascends and departs from its-wave's upper surface —

  • A dragger drags it from over its surface —

  • These are the successive layers of darkness. Their characteristic is that some are darker than others —

  • That when he took out his hand he was not near to see that hand.

  • And if Allah the Exalted makes not Visible Light for some one,  thereat  no part of  Visible Light is there for him. [24:40]


  • The Day when veil upon them the infliction from their above and from beneath their feet —

  • And it will be said, "you people taste the result of that which you people kept doing." [29:55]

  • And the moment waves wrapped over them like the overshadowing canopies —

  • They called upon Allah the Exalted, acting as sincere devotees-allegiant in conduct for Him the Exalted.

  • In response to their prayers, when He the Exalted rescued them surviving and safe towards the land-shore, thereat some of them make themselves moderate.

  • Take note that none denies deliberately and publicly about Our Aa'ya'at-Verbally communicated passages except every ungratefully disobedient betrayer. [31:32]


  • They (Muna'fi'qeen: impostor believers) are illiberal and covetous towards you people.

  • Thereat when the fear of war was eminent, you the Messenger [Sal'lallaa'hoalaih'wa'salam] noticed  they were looking towards you, their eyes revolving like one upon whom has lurked the death.

  • Thenceforth, when the fear departed; they rushed to you people with hardened offensive tongues, yearning to have the best gain/advantage [from the unsolicited gains of war].

  • They are the people who have not believed for which reason Allah the Exalted has declared their acts voided, weightless froth, destructive.

  • And this has always been an easy matter to adjudge for Allah the Exalted. [33:19]

  • And Our Majesty have rendered their stubbornness as a barrier in their front and barrier on their back—

Root: س د د

  • Whereby Our Majesty have enshrouded them [in a limited place]—

  • Thereby, they thenceforth observe not. [36:09]


  • Which will veil/cloud the people.

  • [it will become known] This is a painful punishment. [44:11]


  • And those who [Muna'fi'qeen, falsely and deceptively] have declared to have believed rebuke saying to others, "Why is it that a Surat: demarcated Chapter has not been sent?"

  • Thereat when a Surat; [mouh'kma'tun; feminine, singular, passive participle] the peculiarity - individuality of which is that it contains straight/stable/permanent injunctions/commands, was compositely sent and therein was the prescriptive mention of confronting the war [Sura 2]—

  • You noticed those in the hearts of whom there is a disease [Muna'fi'qeen] that they were looking towards you, the Messenger [Sal'lallaa'hoalaih'wa'salam]  with a glance of a person blanketed with the fear of the death.

  • Thereby [on revelation of the Surat] the preferably better course of conduct for them was— [47:20]


  • He saw him when the Pinnacle-the Demarcating Horizon was getting veiling by that which veiled it. [53:16]

  • Whereby that veiled-submerged it; that [water-Dead Sea] who covered it. [53:54]


  • And indeed whenever I invited them so that You the Exalted may forgive them—

  • They inserted their fingers in their ears as insulation and consciously made themselves veiled with their garments/traditions—

  • And they persisted to remain tied with their system/traditions and they demonstrated self-pride having made themselves obsessed with pride of superiority and grandeur. [71:07]
