  • They prayed "Our Sustainer Lord! Do bless us with coolly perseverance and fortitude —

  • They were talking amongst themselves: "Is there no discretion for us in any matter regarding any issue?"

  • You the Messenger [Sal'lallaa'hoalaih'wa'salam] pronounce: "The fact is that the matter, all in totality, rests exclusively for Allah the Exalted to decide and dispose off".

  • They were holding back to their selves that which they were not openly stating for you.

  • [reverting to their mutual conjectural talk] They were saying: "Had there been some sort of discretion in the matter granted and left for us we would have not slain here."

  • You the Messenger [Sal'lallaa'hoalaih'wa'salam] pronounce: "Had you even stayed back in your houses those would have manifestly evidenced it in their bed rooms for whom information of being murdered had since been recorded."

  • And whatever has happened was for the reason that Allah the Exalted might bring out and expose that which was in your chests and purify from unwanted containments in your hearts.

  • And remain cognizant that Allah the Exalted has the complete knowledge of that what is held in the chests. [3:154]

  • Take note; They (Muna'fi'qeen: the imposter believers) respond: "Our promise is acceptance of narrated word." [read with 24:53]

  • Thereby, the moment they depart from the company of you the Messenger [Sal'lallaa'hoalaih'wa'salam] a crafty group amongst them structures-fabricates-whispers something other than the one you said to them.

  • Be mindful; Allah the Exalted records in writing all that they secretively discuss during night.

  • Therefore, you the Messenger avoid and ignore them.

  • And continue having trust and reliance in Allah the Exalted.

  • And Allah the Exalted suffices as the Guardian-Protector-Disposer of Affairs. [4:81]

  • Know the happenings of day of resurrection; they (the non-believers) assembled in the open, all collectively, to make submissions for consideration of Allah the Exalted.

  • Thereat, the downtrodden said for those who had attained position of arrogant elite over them and were obsessed with pride of grandeur, "We were indeed for you people the unquestioning followers.

  • Therefore, can you people act as those who could avail averting some thing from the infliction of Allah away from us?"

  • They (arrogant trailblazers) replied, "Had Allah the Exalted guided us, we would certainly have guided you people.

  • It is one and the same thing for us whether we remain distressed or we exercised patience; for us, there is no retiring place other than the Hell-Prison." [14:21]

  • That day the Earth will be substituted with one that will be different to this Earth and likewise the Skies will be changed —

  • And [that having been done, on second Bing Bang all resurrected] they the non-believers assembled in the open to make submissions for consideration of Allah the Exalted; the Solitary Sovereign Sustainer Lord, the Absolutely Dominant over all irresistibly. [14:48]

  • Know it, the Day Our Majesty will cause the removal of the mountains [converting them into sand] —

  • And you will see the Earth plainly levelled.

  • And Our Majesty would have gathered them, thereby, We would not have left even a single individual behind. [18:47]

The meanings of: are also rendered explicit by describing the state of Earth on that Day in these words:

  • And people enquire from you the Messenger [Sal'lallaa'hoalaih'wa'salam] about the mountains.

  • In response you pronounce, "My Sustainer Lord will blast them, as dust particles. [20:105]

  • Then He the Exalted will leave them plains smooth and leveled;

  • You will not see - find therein crookedness - variation in alignment and nor curve - uneven surface". [20:107]


  • And the Hell-Prison shall be manifestly exposed for the divagating ones — [26:91]


  • The Day they will appear in the open —

  • Nothing of any sort hides about them from Allah the Exalted —

  • It will be asked; For whom is the Dominion and Dispensation of Justice this Day?

  • It will be replied: This day it is exclusively for Allah the Exalted,  the Only Absolutely Dominant over all irresistibly. [40:16]

  • And the Hell-Prison will be made manifest for everyone who sees. [79:36]
