Ibn Faris [died 1005] stated:

الحاء والصاد والراء أصلٌ واحد، وهو الجمع والحَبْس والمنع

That it signifies collection, assemblage, and restriction, confinement and preventing, barring.

Classical Lexicons

  • Listen; You people are directed to complete the Hajj and Uemraa; performing all the Protocols in awe and reverence for Allah the Exalted.

  • However, if on arrival you were blockaded to perform it, then you are only required to send that which was readily available of garlanded mammals raised for sacrifice.

  • And you should not remove hair-shave your heads till the reaching of the sacrificial mammal to his destined point.

  • Thereat, if you are afforded security-permission for entry, then, if some one wished to avail the benefit of Uem'raa visit towards Hajj he shall sacrifice which was readily available of garlanded mammals raised for sacrifice.

  • However, he who does not find to comply with this injunction he shall fast for three days during Hajj and for seven days on return to native place.

  • This will make fast for ten days, compositely. This injunction is for him whose household is non-resident of Sacred Mosque.

  • And you people sincerely endeavour to attain the protection from Allah the Exalted —

  • And be aware that Allah the Exalted is watchful/examines matters minutely till its logical conclusion. [2:196]


  • Donating the gifts secretively is particularly for those needy people who have been restricted-restrained to their places for the cause of Allah the Exalted.

  • They do not find it feasible for openly striking; transiting in the Earth-society.

  • The emotional man of superficial understanding presumes them self-sufficiently rich because of their self-restraint, self-respect and composedness.

  • You will recognize them by their visible sign; They do not ask people in frank overtaking manner.

  • And should you spend that which is something advantageous out of the beneficial wherewithal:

  • For reason of omnipresence, the ever vigilant Allah the Exalted is certainly fully aware of it. [2:273]

  • His prayer was accepted whereby the Angels called upon him (Zakaria [alai'his'slaam]), while he was standing for As-sa'laat: Time Bound Protocol of Servitude and allegiance, in the Secluded Chamber —

  • That, "Indeed, Allah the Exalted congratulates you with good news of Yahya —

  •  He will be an affirmer and testifier; this news conveyed to you is with the word- promise of Allah the Exalted.

  • And he will be honoured as distinguished dignitary and encircled by people in attendance; and at birth would be Elevated-Chosen Servant [Nabi], one of the righteous". [3:39]

  • Except those who attach-refuge with such people-nation: a covenant-treaty-no war pact is in force between you and them —

  • Or, those who have come to you with their breasts constricted and dejected about the prospect of fighting you being on the side of their people, or fighting their people.

  • Had Allah the Exalted so willed He would have certainly given them dominance and power over you for which reason assuredly they would have fought you.

  • Thereby, if they stayed away from you and do not fight you and offer you peace:

  • Thereat, Allah the Exalted has not authorized and allowed you any course against them. [4:90]

  • Thereafter the proclamation of denouncement when the announced period of Four months of the Restraint have spun-elapsed —

  • Thereat, for reason of termination of the pact you people are directed to fight the specifically referred polytheists whenever and wherever you did confront them [except in the precincts of Sacred mosque subject to their restraint-2:191]; and seize them and restrain them in jail —

  • And siege them: sit for them at every point of waiting/routes to contain their movement/corner them —

  • Sequel to this measure if they revert (to their ancestor's Code of Life: Islam), and maintain Ass-sa'laat: Time bound protocol of servitude and allegiance to Allah the Exalted; and pay the Az-zaka'at: financial liability for economic uplift of society [they are brethren in your System of Life-9:11] —

  • Thereby, you are directed to vacate their passage.

  • The fact remains, Allah the Exalted is indeed Oft-forgiving/overlooking past faults, the Merciful. [9:05]

  • یقینا اللہ تعالیٰ  درگزر اور پردہ پوشی کرنے اور معاف فرمانے والے ہیں، منبع رحمت ہیں۔

  • May be that your Sustainer Lord have mercy upon you people —

  • But if you people will have done it again, We will have repeated it.

  • Beware, Our Majesty have rendered Hell as a Prison-Jail-Dungeon for those who disavowed. [17:08]
