Ibn Faris [died 1005] stated:

الْهَاءُ وَالْوَاوُ وَالنُّونُ أُصَيْلٌ يَدُلُّ عَلَى سُكُونٍ أَوْ سَكِينَةٍ أَوْ ذُلٍّ.

That it leads to the perception of calmness, tranquility, or humiliation.

Lane's Lexicon:  He, or it, was, or became, low, base, vile, abject, mean, paltry, contemptible, despicable, ignominious, inglorious, and weak; syn. ذَلَّ, (MsbK,) and حَقُرَ, (Msb,) and ضَعُفَ.

اردو میں اہانت مستعمل ہے:

 توہین، تذلیل، بے عزتی، حقارت۔

اہانت آمیزـ: وہ بات یا برتاؤ وغیرہ جس سے کسی کی تذلیل کا پہلو نکلے، دوسرے کی ذلت و تحقیر کا پہلو رکھنے والا عمل۔

  • Their decision of rejecting that which Allah the Exalted has compositely sent is petty and regrettable for that understanding -reason for which they have traded their own selves.

  • — کتنی بری/ہلکی ہے وہ بات جس کے عوض انہوں نے دانستہ اپنا سودا کیا ہے کہ اللہ تعالیٰ نے جو مجتمع انداز میں نازل کیا/ان تک پہنچایا ہے اُس کا انکار کر دیں

  • Their decision is merely for reason of insolent envy-jealousy against that Allah the Exalted sends piecemeal out of His Grace upon the person He the Exalted selects amongst His allegiant subjects.

  • انہوں نے ایسامحض اِس جذباتی جلن اور غبار خاطر سے کیا کہ اللہ تعالیٰ اپنا فضل (آخری کتاب قرآنِ عظیم)اپنے بندوں میں سے اس پربتدریج نازل کریں جنہیں وہ خود پسند فرماتے ہیں۔

  • Thereby, they have compounded upon themselves the liability to criminal cognizance-arrest by Allah the Exalted.

  • نتیجہ یہ ہے کہ انہوں نے اپنے آپ کومجرمانہ جانکاری کے مستحق در مستحق بنا لیا ہے ا للہ تعالیٰ کی جانب سے گرفت میں لئے جانے کے

  • Be aware; humiliating punishment is in wait-prepared for the non-believers of Qur'aan. [2:90]

  • ایک ذلت آمیز عذاب قرء ان(مجید)کا انکار کرنے والوں کے لئے تیار اور منتظر ہے۔

  • And those who have refused to accept-believe must not take it positively that Our giving them prolonged prosperity is something better for them.

  • اور وہ لوگ جنہوں نے  رسول کریم اور قرءان مجید پر ایمان لانے سے انکار کیا ہے ہرگز نہ خیال کریں کہ ہم جو ڈھیل انہیں دے رہے ہیں وہ اُن کیلئے بہتر ہے۔

  • Our granting prolonged free hand for them is only that they might progress, a progress for dilapidation.

  • ہمارا انہیں ڈھیل اور مہلت دینا تو صرف انہیں ازخود افزوں کرنے دینا ہے،گناہوں اور جرائم کے بوجھ سے مضمحل ہونے کے حوالے سے۔

  • And a disgraceful torment is in wait-prepared for them. [3:178]

  • جان لیں ایک ذلت آمیز عذاب اُن کیلئے تیار اور منتظر ہے۔

  • Be cognizant; If someone defies the Word of Allah the Exalted and the Messenger of Him;

  • ۔اور ان کے برعکس جس کسی نے اللہ تعالیٰ اور ان کے رسول(ﷺ)کے فرمان کی مخالفت اور نافرمانی کی۔

  • And if he purposely transgressed the limits-restraints-demarcations prescribed by Him the Exalted:

  • اورجس نےدانستہ اورذاتی منفعت کے مقصد سے اللہ تعالیٰ کی مقرر کردہ معاشرتی حدود سے تجاوز کیا۔

  • He the Exalted will cause him enter the heated Hell-prison, to stay therein indefinitely.

  • ۔وہ جناب اس شخص کو جہنم میں داخل کریں گے،وہ اس میں ہمیشہ قیام پذیر رہے گا۔

  • Know it, a disgraceful torment is in wait for him. [4:14]

  • اور ذلت آمیز عذاب اس کے لئے تیار اور منتظر ہے۔

  • (Allah the Exalted does not appreciate and approve those) They who are themselves stingy and miser and to justify their act instruct others to miserly withhold the worldly wherewithal from spending in the cause of Allah —

  • ۔متنبہ رہو؛ جو لوگ   کم ظرفی اور تنگ دلی کا مظاہرہ کرتے ہوئے نہ صرف خوف مال ودولت کوسمیٹ/بھینچ کر رکھتے ہیں  بلکہ لوگوں کو بھی بخیل  بنے رہنے کا کہتے ہیں

  • And they conceal that which Allah the Exalted has bestowed upon them out of His Bounty; [they should not consider it something better for them-3:180].

  • اور اس کو جو اللہ تعالیٰ  نے اپنے فضل میں سے  مال و دولت دیا ہے اسے چھپا چھپا کر رکھتے ہیں (یہ گمان نہ کریں کہ وہ اُن کے لئے بہتر ہے ؛ نہیں،ان کا تخمینہ غلط ہے؛وہ ان کے لئے باعث اضطراب و ہیجان ہو گا۔حوالہ  ءال عمران۔180)

  • Be mindful, Our Majesty have prepared for the disavowers - ungrateful people a humbling chastisement, disgracing. [4:37]

  • ۔خبردار رہو؛ ہم جناب نے ایک ذلت آمیز عذاب تیار کر دیا ہے جس کے مرتے دم تک ایمان لانے سے انکار کرنے والے مستوجب ہیں۔

  • Take note; If you the Messenger [Sal'lallaa'hoalaih'wa'salam] happened to be amongst them; whereby upon reaching scheduled time you have established Ass-sa'laat: Time Bound Protocol of Servitude and allegiance for them:

  • ۔اور جب آپ(ﷺ)ان(ایمان والوں)کے درمیان بنفس نفیس موجود ہوں،اور وقت صلوٰۃ ہو جانے کی وجہ سے آپ  ان کے لئے صلوٰۃ کی امامت کے لئے کھڑے ہو گئے ہیں:

  • Thereat, for security reasons in war conditions a group of them should stand along with you; and they should retain and carry along their weapons —

  • ۔تو چونکہ حالت جنگ میں ہیں(اور تمام صحابہ کرآپ کی امامت میں ادائیگی صلوٰۃ کے خواہش مند رہتے ہیں)اس لئے ان میں سے ایک دستہ آپ کی معیت میں کھڑا ہو اور اپنے اسلحہ کو ساتھ لیں۔

  • Subsequent to they having prostrated; the first group should move away on behind and the other group which had not participated in Ass-sa'laat should join Ass-sa'laat with you.

  • ۔اس طرح جب وہ رکعت کا سجدہ کر چکیں تو وہ تم لوگوں کے پیچھے چلے جائیں اور دوسرا دستہ جنہوں نے ابھی صلوٰۃ کی ادائیگی نہیں کی وہ آ جائے اور پھر صف بندی کر لینے پر آپ(ﷺ)کے ساتھ ادائیگی صلوٰۃ کرے۔

  • And they should retain their protections-armor and their weapons.

  • ۔اور وہ اپنے تحفظ کا جنگی لباس اور اپنا اپنا اسلحہ  ساتھ رکھیں۔

Root: ء خ ذ

  • This advice for retaining armor and weapons is for reason that the Disavowers-Non believers wished that somehow you people might become careless of your weapons and other wherewithal whereby they might assault you; a single sudden assault.

  • ۔یہ اسلحہ بند رہنے کی ہدایت اس لئے ہے کہ وہ جنہوں نے رسول کریم اور قرءان مجید کو ماننے سے انکار کر دیا ہے چاہتے ہیں کہ کاش تم لوگ اپنے اسلحہ اور سازوسامان سے غافل ہو جاؤ تو   تم پرحملہ کر دیں،اچانک یکبارگی  انداز میں۔،

  • However, nothing is objectionable for you if you put off your weapons for reason of discomfort because of rain or you being sick —

  • ۔لیکن تم میں سے ان پر قطعاً کوئی قدغن اور قابل اعتراض بات نہیں اگر وہ اپنا اسلحہ نیچے رکھ دیں جو بارش کی وجہ سے کچھ تکلیف میں ہیں یا تم بیماری کی حالت میں ہو۔

  • But retain your protections-armour.

  • ۔مگر اپنے تحفظ کا لباس ساتھ رکھے رکھو۔

  • Remain aware; Allah the Exalted has prepared, as requital for persistently denying people, a humbling chastisement, causing feel of being vile. [4:102]

  • ۔یہ حقیقت ہے ، اللہ تعالیٰ نے ایک جسمانی اور نفسیاتی طور پر گھٹیا محسوس کرانے والا عذاب تیار کر رکھا ہے جس کے مرتے دم تک رسول کریم اور قرءان مجید کا انکار کرنے والے مستوجب ہیں۔

  • These three types of people are truly those who are the established and proven disavowers - non believers.

  • ۔یہ تین طرح کے لوگ وہ ہیں جو اللہ تعالیٰ کے دین کا انکار کرنے والے ہیں،اس طرح کہ پائے ثبوت کو پہنچے کافر ہیں۔

  • Know it; Our Majesty have prepared a humbling chastisement, one of humiliation for persistently denying people. [4:151]

  • ۔خبردار رہو؛ ہم جناب نے ایک ذلت آمیز عذاب تیار کر دیا ہے جس کے مرتے دم تک ایمان لانے سے انکار کرنے والے مستوجب ہیں۔

  • And reflect who could be a greater evil monger-a distorter-creator of imbalances, disorder-over stepping than him who artfully conjectured a falsehood attributing to Allah the Exalted —

  • اور اس بڑھ کر حقیقت کے منافی رویہ اپنانے والا تخریب پسند کون ہو سکتا ہے اس سے جو اللہ تعالیٰ سے منسوب کرتے ہوئے دانستہ زیر مقصد جھوٹ پر مبنی بات اختراع کرتا ہے۔

  • Or than him who said: "A revelation has been communicated to me"; while nothing of the sort was verbally revealed to him.

  • یا اس سے جس نے کہا’’میری جانب وحی کیا گیا ہے‘‘جبکہ حقیقت یہ ہے کہ اس کی جانب قطعی کچھ بھی  نہیں وحی کیا گیا۔

  • And than him who said: "I will soon compositely send similar to that which Allah the Exalted has compositely sent".

  • اور وہ جس نے کہا’’عنقریب میں اس کے مثل جو اللہ تعالیٰ نے مجتمع انداز میں پہنچایا ہے،مجتمع انداز میں مرتب کر کے پہنچا دونگا‘‘(سورۃ الانفال کی آیت۔۳۱کے ساتھ دیکھیں)۔

  • And had you seen the scene of the Day of Resurrection; when the evil-doers/distorters of facts are thrown in the throes of death —

  • ۔

  • And the Angels in position with their hands outstretching would say: "Take your selves out, if you can!

  • ۔

Root: ب س ط

  • Today you are being awarded humiliating chastisement because of conjectural assertions contrary to infallible truth which you people kept attributing to Allah the Exalted —

  • ۔

  • And you people kept purposefully arrogantly avoiding Aa'ya'at: the Verbal Passages of Him the Exalted." [6:93]

  • ۔

  • He hides from people considering that news as disgrace he was congratulated, contemplating the options:

  • Should he retain the news at the cost of disgracing humiliation or conceal that news in the mud.

  • Be mindful, Evil and abominable is what they order/decide for people. [16:59]

  • He the Exalted said, it will happen in this situation —

  • He the Exalted said, "This is the decision of your Sustainer Lord; that is quiet easy for Me to cause it happen;

  • Realize it [why not you considered before having asked] I had created you foretimes while you were immediately before not even a recognized object." [19:09]

  • He (Gibraa'iel [alai'his'slaam]) replied: "Exactly in the same circumstances it will happen as promised.

  •  He (Gibraa'iel [alai'his'slaam]) further said, "Your Sustainer Lord has said that [quote] "It (causing her to give birth to a son in the state of without having been touched by a man) is quiet easy for Me to cause it happen —

  • And the purpose of this unique birth unusual-to-human perception is that Our Majesty renders him (yet to be born Easa [alai'his'slaam]) an unprecedented sign illustrative for the people [to understand that Allah the Exalted is beyond the limitations of causality]. This demonstration is a Mercy from Our Grace —

  • And know it that he (yet to be born Easa [alai'his'slaam]) has been in the scheme of affairs a concluded event- an ordained reality." [19:21]

  • Have you not given a thought that in fact Allah the Exalted is the only One for Whom whoever is living - existing in the Skies and in the Earth makes his self acknowledge and submit humbly in surrender, and will make himself acknowledge and submit humbly in surrender, [in a state of wilful and affectionate acceptance with  reverence, and so under compulsion of coercive circumstances —[13:15]

  • Moreover, the Sun, and the Moon, and the Stars —

  • And the Mountains, and the Plants, and the Animals make themselves humbly submissive for Allah the Exalted —

Root: ش ج ر;  د ب ب

  • Moreover, many from amongst human beings make themselves humbly submit and prostrate for Allah the Exalted.

  • Be mindful that, many of the human beings are those, the corporal punishment has become incumbent upon them.

  • Mind it that in case Allah the Exalted declares someone as degraded, thereupon, there is none who bestow dignity and honour to revive for him his grading.

  • Indeed Allah the Exalted is Innovative Performer of whatever He intends-desires-decides. [22:18] [please prostrate, it helps getting near to Allah]

  • Remain mindful, those who refused to accept and vehemently contradicted publicly with regard to Our Aa'ya'at: unitary verbal passages of the Book —

  • ذہن نشین کر لو کہ وہ لوگ جنہوں نے انکارکر دیا اور ہماری پہنچائی گئی آیتوں (کتاب کے مندرجات )کو لوگوں کے سامنے برملا جھٹلادیا

  • Thereby, they are the people, a humiliating  punishment is in wait for them. [22:57]

  • When you kept it on your tongues and kept saying with your mouths for which there was absolutely no knowledge/ authentic information for you people —

  • And you people thought it as something trivial while in the judgment of Allah the Exalted it was something greatly significant. [24:15]

  • And the sincere allegiants of Ar'Reh'maan the Exalted are those who walk upon the Earth in a manner reflecting softness and humbleness —

  • And when emotionalists, passionate, traditionalists, conjecture followers addressed them they, avoiding indulging in conjectural debates said, "Be at peace" — [25:63]

  • The affliction will be intensified for him on the Day of Rising —

  • And he will survive in that humiliated condition permanently — [25:69]

  • And He the Exalted is the Only Who initiates the creation, afterwards He causes its iteration —after pause of time will cause his relapse—reverted to original state —

  • And that is quiet easy for Him the Exalted.

  • And the superb quotation in the Skies and the Earth is appropriate for Him the Exalted —


  • And be aware, He the Exalted is Pervasively dominant and the Infinitely Just Supreme Administrator of the created realm, visible and invisible. [30:27]

  • Know it (besides aforementioned people); there is always a person amongst people who purposely indulges in fabricating and publicizing amusing and attention catching conjectures - myths - stories —

  • لیکن(محسنین کے علاوہ)ایک ایسا شخص لوگوں میں موجود ہوتا ہے جودانستہ سوچ بچارسے دلفریب،لطف انھارنے والی بات پیدا کرتا ہے۔

  • That might cause neglectfulness and stray non-knowledgeable people away from the Path of Allah the Exalted; he does so without having authentic information/knowledge —

  • اس کا مقصد لوگوں کو اللہ تعالیٰ کی راہ  سے منحرف کر نا ہے،وہ ایسا علم حاصل کئے بغیر حالت میں کرتا ہے۔

  • And purposely holding her (the Path) contemptuously and mockingly —

  • اور وہ دانستہ اس(اللہ تعالیٰ کی راہ)کومذاق اڑانے کے انداز میں لیتا ہے۔

Root: ھ  ز ء

  • Such are the people; know their upshot, a humiliating punishment is prepared and is in wait for them. [31:06]

  • یہ ہیں وہ لوگ،جان لو ان کے متعلق،ایک توہین آمیز عذاب ان کے لئے منتظر ہے۔

  • It is certain about those who talk unpleasant false stories maligning Allah the Exalted and His Messenger — Allah the Exalted has cursed and condemned them in the worldly life and in the Hereafter —

  • ۔ان لوگوں کے انجام سے باخبر ہو جاؤ جو اللہ تعالیٰ اور ان کے رسول(کریم محمّد ﷺ سے  قرءان مجید سے ماوراء ناپسندیدہ جھوٹی باتیں منسوب کر کے ان )کے لئے باعث ناگواری اور ناپسندیدگی بنتے ہیں--اللہ تعالیٰ نے انہیں دنیا اور آخرت میں مسترد، دھتکار، پھٹکار زدہ قرار دے دیا ہے۔

  • Know it, He the Exalted has prepared for them a humbling chastisement, one of humiliation. [33:57]

  • ۔اور ان جناب نے ایک ذلت آمیز رسوا کن عذاب ان کے لئے خصوصی طور پر تیار کر رکھا ہے۔

  • [Jinns were working before him] Thereat, when Our Majesty decreed upon him the natural death none led/indicated to them (Jinns) to know about him having expired —

  • Except the Creature of Earth, she was eating his supporting staff —

  • For reason of supporting staff being damaged could no longer support the dead body, when as soon he fell down on Earth, the Jinn self realized that if they had the knowledge of invisible things they would not have remained in such humiliating punishment [immediately after his death] [34:14]

  • And as for Sanued are concerned, for reason Our Majesty had guided them [by sending Messengers] whereupon they purposely preferred mindless blindness over the Guidance —

  • Resultantly the thunder of infliction of painful belittlement seized them —

  • Because of that which they people deliberately did and performed. [41:17]

  • And indeed Our Majesty had rescued Bani Iesraa'eel from the humiliating torture/anguish— [44:30]

  • ۔

  • And when he came to know an information anew from Our Aa'ya'at: Verbal Passages of Qur’ān he deliberately took them (passages) jestingly.

  • Such are the people: humiliating punishment is prepared and is in wait for them. [45:09]

  • And the Day when those who refused to accept (Messenger-Divine Discourse) would be presented to the Hell-Prison—

  • It will be pronounced, "you people exhausted your good things in your life in the lowly world and in that you people absorbed yourselves in enjoyment—

  • In consequence today you people will be requited with humiliating chastisement for the reason you showed arrogance [against Aa'ya'at of Allah] without reason and rhyme in the Earth/worldly life—[Similar information in 6:93]

  • And for the reason that you people kept transgressing and digressing. [46:20]

  • Indeed those who obstruct and hinder [the Path of] Allah the Exalted and His Messenger [Sal'lallaa'hoalaih'wa'salam]—

  • They stand frustratingly disgraced as were frustratingly disgraced those who were before them.

Root: ك ب ت

  • And Our Majesty have compositely sent (towards them) Aa'ya'at: verbal passages of Qur’ān, characteristically mirroring information, facts and knowledge in exegetical manner.

  • Be aware; humiliating punishment is in wait-prepared for the non-believers of Qur’ān. [58:05]

  • ایک ذلت آمیز عذاب قرء ان(مجید)کا انکار کرنے والوں کے لئے تیار اور منتظر ہے۔

  • These (Muna'fi'qeen) have consciously and purposely adopted their declarations [of believing in Allah and the last Day and saying that Muhammad Sal'lallaa'hoalaih'wa'salam is the Messenger of Allah, in believer's society] as protective shield/ deception;= —

  • Thereat with this deceptive umbrella they obstruct/repulse people off the High road of Allah the Exalted.

  • Thereby, disgraceful torment is in wait—prepared for them [on the Day of Resurrection].. [58:16]

  • And as that state is concerned when He the Exalted subjected him to an exposure trial:

  • اور جب ان جناب نے اسے اس کے متضاد حالت میں آزمائش میں مبتلا کیا

  • Whereat He the Exalted restricted his sustenance to a measure: thereat he complains: "My Sustainer Lord has humiliated me". [89:16]

  • ۔جس کے لئے ان جناب نے اس کے متاع حیات کو محدود پیمانوں میں کر دیا تو اس صورتحال میں لوگوں کے سامنے گلہ کرتا ہے"میرے رب نے میری توہین کی ہے،مجھے خوار کیا ہے"۔
