Ibn Faris [died 1005] stated:

السين والقاف والحرف المعتل أصلٌ واحدٌ، وهو إشراب الشيء الماء وما أشبَهَه

That it signifies drinking some thing liquid, water and the like.

Lane Lexicon: He gave him to drink, generally water, often milk, and sometimes poison or some other thing: and the first often signifies he watered him, namely, a beast; and in like manner seed produce &c., i. e. irrigated it;

  • ان کے ایسا کرنے پر اُس (پتھر)میں سے بارہ آبی لہریں ازخود سے ابھر کر بہہ نکلیں، چشمے کی صورت۔

  • Each of the nation's (twelve) groups thereby got known its own place for water.

  • تمام لوگوں (بارہ قبیلوں)نے اپنے اپنے پینے کا مقام معلوم کر لیا۔

  • Our Majesty conveyed them; "You people eat and drink from the sustenance provided by Allah the Exalted —

  •  انہیں کہاگیا) ”اللہ تعالیٰ کے دئیے ہوئے رزق میں سے کھاؤ اورپیو۔)

  • And you should not, like mischief-doers create intellectual distortions-conjectural myths-disquiet in the society".   [2:60]

  •  اور تمہیں چاہئے کہ زمین /معاشرے/دنیامیں بگاڑ پیدا کرنے والوں کے انداز میں ذہنی و فکری انتشارنہ پھیلاؤ“۔


  • He (Mūsā [alai'his'slaam]) told them: "He the Exalted says that it is a she-cow. Its way of life is symbolized by; she is neither yoked that she tills the land to and fro preparing it for cultivation, nor she is yoked with blinders on eyes that she irrigates the crop fields moving circularly.

  • انہوں (موسیٰ علیہ السلام)نے کہا’’یقینا انہوں (میرے رب)نے جواب دیا ہے،وہ کہتے ہیں ”وہ ایک ایسی گائے ہے جسے ہل میں جوتا نہیں جاتا کہ زمین کو فصل بونے کے لئے تیار کرے۔اور نہ آنکھوں پر پٹی باندھ کر کھیتوں کو پانی دینے کے لئے دائرے میں گھمایا جاتا ہے

  • She is kept safe, secure, at peace, healthy tranquillity and dynamic balance. Her life feature now is that absolutely no deformity, spot, variation in colour is present in it".

  • “اس کی ایک خاصیت یہ بھی ہے وہ مکمل طور پر محفوط وسلامت ہے۔اور ایک خصوصیت یہ بھی ہے کہ کسی قسم کا داغ دھبہ اس کے جسم میں نہیں ہے۔

  • They said (to Mūsā): "Now you have come with the exact distinctly explicit fact." 

  • “انہوں نے (موسیٰ علیہ السلام)سے کہا”اب توآیا ہے، دو ٹوک بات/حقیقت کے ساتھ۔

  • Thereat, being cornered they sacrificed her in a state that they had no wish-intention doing it. [2:71]

  • اِس لئے/بسبب مجبوری انہوں نے اُس گائے کو ذبح کیا اگرچہ وہ ایسا کرنے کے قریب نہیں آنا چاہتے تھے/اُن کا ارادہ نہیں تھا

  • اور ہم جناب نے انہیں(بنی اسرائیل) بارہ قبیلوں میں منقسم کر دیا تھا،ہر ایک جد کے حوالے سے متمیزبرادری

  • And We verbally conveyed to Mūsā [alai'his'slaam] when his nation inclined him to pray for water:  "Strike displacing specific stone with the help of your Staff."

  • اور  ہم نے  موسیٰ(علیہ السلام)کومطلع کیا ،جب ان کی قوم نے ان سے پانی مہیا کرنے کی درخوات کی تھی ،کہ”اپنے عصا کی مددسے مخصوص پتھر کو سرکائیں‘‘ ۔

  • تمام لوگوں (بارہ قبیلوں)نے اپنے اپنے پینے کا مقام معلوم کر لیا۔

  • And Our Majesty had caused a Parasol, covering shade upon them with Sky covering Clouds [Stratocumulus] [for saving تھعم from scorching heat of Sinai peninsula]

    اور ہم جناب نے (سینائے سینا کی جھلساتی دھوپ سے آسائش کیلئے) ان کے اوپر چھتری کی مانندبادلوں (Stratocumulus)سے سایہ کیا۔

  •  Moreover, Our Majesty had sent fully prepared meal "Munna and Sal'wa" upon them.

  • اور ہم جناب نے تیار شدہ  طعام من و سلویٰ ان لوگوں پر یکبارگی گرایا(dropped)  

  • We conveyed them; "You people eat the permissible-liquefiable and respectively beneficial and nutrient which Our Majesty have given to you as sustenance۔"

  • ان سے کہا گیا تھا)کھاؤ اِن طیب چیزوں میں سے جو ہم جناب نے رزق تم لوگوں کوعطا کیا ہے۔)

  • Realize that they did not harm Our Majesty; the fact is they rather kept harming their selves. [7:160]

  • اور انہوں (تمہارے آباؤ اجداد) نے ہمارا کچھ نہیں بگاڑا بلکہ وہ خود اپنی شخصیت کوبگاڑتے رہے۔


  • Have you declared people providing water to pilgrims and maintaining the Sacred Mosque around Ka'aba are:

  • Like those who believed in Allah the Exalted and the Last Day and exerted utmost in the cause of Allah the Exalted?

  • They equate not with each other in the consideration and judgment of  Allah the Exalted.

  • Be mindful, Allah the Exalted does not guide [against their will/considered decision] people who are mischievous-distorters and substitute facts with conjectures-myths-concocted stories. [9:19]


  • O you both my companions of the prison! one of you after safe release will be serving wine-alcoholic drinks to his Master-King —

  • And the other [on being convicted/awarded capital punishment] will be crucified, whereat the birds will eat a part of his head.

  • The matter about which you both inquire has since been decreed." [12:41]


  • Eventually when as soon he (Yu'suf [alai'his'slaam]) had got ready-uploaded their merchandise: food grains on camels —

  • He (Yu'suf alai'his'slaam) placed the drink-filled flask [-definite feminine noun] in the saddlebag of his younger brother.

  • Afterwards the caravan had left, a caller chasing them from behind loudly sought their attention:

  • "O you the caravan listen, indeed you are certainly thieves." [12:70]

  • But Our Majesty has granted to some distinction/nutritional richness over some others in diet.

  • Indeed signs indicating the existence of the Creator and Setter of sciences are obvious in the foretasted existents for people who use faculty of reason and intellectual inquiry. [13:04]

  • یقینا ان مظاہر میں عقل استعمال کرنے والوں کے لئے حقیقت (معبود مطلق)کی جانب رہنمائی کرنے والے   اشارے/نشانیاں موجود ہیں۔


  • And the Hell-Prison is in front of him awaiting —

  • And he will be made to drink from boiling hot water, [14:16]


  • And Our Majesty sent the Winds in state of uplifting plentiful "semen of stallion"-aerosols-condensation nuclei.

  • Thereby, Our Majesty dropped variable quantity of water from the Sky, whereby Our Majesty caused it a drink source for you people.

  • Mind it, you are not capable for persevering it in stock [for abundant quantity and other reasons]. [15:22]


  • Know it, indeed an insight is certainly discernable in the herbivore mammals for the benefit of you people —

  • Our Majesty provides you a composition of that to drink which is located within its [pronoun for singular male] bellies/globules; it is in the state which is central to semi processed, broken down food and that of blood —

  • This information is regarding raw-pure milk [singular masculine], characteristically easy to swallow for the drinkers. [16:66]

 

  • Know it, indeed an insight is certainly discernable in the herbivore mammals for the benefit of you people.

  • Our Majesty provides you composition of that to drink which is secreted from within the the bellies of them (female mammals) —

  • And a number of benefits are endowed for you people in these mammals —

  • And some of them you people eat. [23:21]


  • Its objective is that Our Majesty might rejuvenate with it (water) a "dead piece of land-locality" —

  • And so that Our Majesty serve it for drinking for a large number of mammals and human beings whom We have created. [25:49]


  • And He is the One Who feeds me and gives me the drink — [26:79]


  • And when he (Mūsā [alai'his'slaam]) reached at the watering place of city Madyan—

  • He found thereat a group of men watering mammals and he found besides them two ladies holding back their mammals.

  • He asked the ladies, "What is the matter of you both!"

  • They said, "We cannot water until the shepherds take away their mammals.

  • And [they indicated to the stranger cause of their presence in men] our father is quiet an old man." [28:23]


  • Thereat, he watered for them, thereafter he returned to the shady place—

  • Whereat he said, "O my Sustainer Lord, indeed I am in begging need for whatever good You have sent to me" [28:24]


  • Thereat, one of those two ladies came to him, she was walking with shyness—

  • She said, "Indeed my father is inviting you so that he may recompense you the reward for that you watered for us."

  • Thereby when he reached to him and narrated in sequence to him the episode/incident, he said, "You do not fear —

  • You have escaped from the unjust tyrant nation." [28:25]


  • The similarity - portrayal of the Paradise, which is promised to those who sincerely endeavour to attain salvation—

  • Streams—continuous flow-supply of water void of contamination, stagnation and stinking is ensured therein —

  • And streams—continuous flow-supply of milk the taste, quality, nutritional value of which will never deteriorate are available therein —

  • And streams—continuous flow-supply of wine/hard drinks which will be delighting for drinkers are available therein —

  • And each of all fruits is available for them therein —

  • And absolute protection is ensured by the grace of their Sustainer Lord —

  • Is the above mentioned person comparable with the one who is permanently residing in heated Hell-Prison—

  • In the state that they would be given to drink water, hot at boiling point —

  • Upon drinking it would prick their intestines. [47:15]


  • [and that it has been communicated to me that] "And if they had consciously maintained themselves steadfast upon the Path/System [prescribed for them by Iebra'heim and Iesma'eile] indeed Our Majesty would have given them to drink the drinkable water in abundance — [72:16]


  • And they will be served therein chalice with drink that has amalgamation/strong taste of ginger — [76:17]

  • Garments green made from natural yarn of fine silk, and lightening effect producing cloth [brocade] is their worn dress —

  • They will be adorned therein with bracelets of gold —

  • And their Sustainer Lord will provide them to drink the vine/hard drink void of any admixture-negative effect. [76:21]


  • And Our Majesty inserted in her (the Earth) long and far reaching anchors —

  • They will be served exquisitely matured wine to drink, it is securely sealed. [83:25]


  • They will be given to drink from a gurgling hot spring — [88:05]

  • For reason/in consequence to what the Messenger of Allah has said to them, "this is the She Camel of Allah the Exalted and the term of her drinking." [91:13]
