Analytical grammarians term it a particle of amplification; In simple manner it is the particle denoting the future. It also denotes continuance, permanence/ recurrence of some happening in future. It reflects that thing shall keep happening time and again in the future. Knowledge and facts mentioned in the Book will keep coming into our sight. نُرِي First person, plural, masculine. Root ر أ ى It signifies seeing with the eye, arouse attention, consideration. It also signifies mental perception, conception, notion, idea. It is in any case related to physical senses. When it has two complements it necessarily means knowing, have knowledge.
"it properly signifies any apparent thing inseparable from a thing not equally apparent, so that when one perceives the former, he knows that he perceives the other, which he cannot perceive by itself, when the two things are of one predicament; and this is apparent in the object of sense and in that of the intellect" (Er-Raghib) {Quote from Lane} A sign, token, mark, by which a person or thing is known.
It
is a matter of common knowledge that we perceive and store things in the
memory only by comparison.
ءَايَةً
signifies only apparent thing which has
dimensions. And information about a thing can be stored in the memory
only when we know its code, i.e. its اسم
name and we know its dimensions through focusing our eyes, i.e.
بصر .
A piece of information/data/ knowledge. A
message, or communication Knowledge is only of ءَايَةً , corporeal, real thing having dimensions; and the words of Allah sent in Quran are also called ءَايَةً since it is said by Him Who knows visible and invisible of everything. Therefore when something is said by All Knower, that is as visible as anything else to the perception of human beings. Anything beyond ءَايَةً is nothing but conjecture, تخيل, imagination, false, farse. هِم ضمير مفعول Pronoun objective complement, plural. Those mentioned in 41:52, who refuse to accept Quran as a revelation from Allah.
أَرذَل العمر Root: ر ذ ل Low, base, vile, mean or contemptible in aspect, state or circumstances. The worse/worst part of life. It should be remembered that أَرذَل has specifically been used in relation to the period/ circumstances of life and not with reference to the individual. Honor and dignity/respect of the man effected should never be compromised. As human being he retains that.
Denotes the end as opposed to the beginning. It reflects the extent or space between two points or limits or the end of the extent. It can be used both with regard to time and space. In simple terms "towards" that part of life {عمر} which has been defined by the word أرذل.
يَحُولُ aorist, singular, masculine, third person. Root: ح و ل shift, transmit, change,
alter, transfer, remove the thing from one place to another position.
The thing intervened as a separation, a
partition, a fence, a barrier, or an obstacle, or obstruction.
"And a wave became barrier/separation
between the two {them}" {Ref 11:43} The basic concept
/ perception is of the surroundings, which gives the reflection/
perception of placement of things in a certain order/ discipline. And it
is used to bring perceivable change in it. In Arabic the perception/core
meanings of the Root will remain dominant in whatever context the words
made from it are employed. A barrier between two things also reflects
the change in the surroundings. المَرء
ِ Root: م ر
ر A rope and thread tightly
twisted, and anything twisted; hence strongly and productive. twist and It refers to creative {productive} ability and عقل and intellect. "TA'j el-'Aroos." People have been asked to listen and then respond/answer.
"Answer only those
who listen" {Ref 6:36}. And as for those people who listen something as a jest and
"their hearts are preoccupied in other trifle matters" {Ref 21:03}; it cannot be called listening for a human being. It remains restricted for very few seconds in the "ears that remember" {echoic memory} {Ref 69:12} and is then lost without getting into the brain for storage. يَستَجِيبُ استَجِيبُواْ They answer, respond, they reply. Root: ج و ب To make a hole or tore something; perforate; pierce; to cut. to hollow, to excavate. جَوَابَ Answer. It has been said that only those persons respond/answer who listen. Only careful/ attentive listening in which the words listened have been interpreted and then stored in the memory would enable someone to answer/respond to what had been told to him. And reflect on the perception and meanings of Arabic Root ج و ب. For answering we have to cut, perforate, pierce and excavate from the data stored in the memory in our brain. One finds that even individual words of Quran e Majeed are proven scientific facts. يُحيِيكُم Listen to the Messenger which will "give you people life". And look at the tragedy that some of the so called believers are distributing 'death' through the people of captivated minds whom they have retarded by inculcating in their minds that it will yield them eternal peaceful life. No one who is a dealer in death shall get life of peace irrespective what he believed and performed what deeds. I don't know what will be the fate of those innocent people who get killed by bomb blasts and suicidal killings done by certain people in the manner of ants but I certainly know as revealed in Quran that he is in the hell permanently. Killing your enemy is allowed only and only in an open and declared war. Otherwise killing a man is a murder notwithstanding the purpose and its nature or necessity in the eyes of someone. For 13 years the Messenger and the believers suffered and tolerated all sorts of high handedness but not once they harmed anyone by ambush. My respects to these bravest men in the true sense of the word. Can they own anybody who does not follow them? Would "believers" like to ponder/reflect over it?

Perception and meanings Quran had disclosed what today we call Alzheimer's disease
Quran e Majeed had informed mankind, 1400 years back, as follows:
"We will henceforth keep visually exposing, Our tangible-physical realities prevalent in the Universe and in their own bodies, to the eyes of those who do not accept the Qur'aan, in order that it may become evident/manifest for them that this Qur'aan is a statement of proven fact." {Refer 41:53}
The Grand Quran has informed that Allah will keep bringing to human
visual observation, the knowledge about the universe and human body, and
it will become manifest to the people that the Qur'aan is a statement of
proven fact/absolute reality.
Why a first time visual observation of hitherto unseen thing manifests
that, the Qur'aan is a statement of proven fact? This is possible only
if the same thing verbally finds mention of it in the Qur’aan. Verbal
specification and visual observation are in fact two aspects/methods of
identification of a tangible fact of real existence, as denoted by
Arabic word
It is a matter of common knowledge that human beings, unlike many species of animal kingdom, are born in a state that they do not have knowledge/perception of anything.
"And Allah brought you out of the wombs of your mothers in a state that you did not have the knowledge/perception of anything {possessor of dimensions}" {Refer 16:78}
The man is born in a weak state, both physically and metaphorically, that is lack of knowledge about his surroundings. With the passage of time he gradually becomes physically stronger and stronger and metaphorically also with the gaining of knowledge about his surroundings. He was for this made capable: "And He has made for you people the organs/faculty of listening and vision and interpretation/ reasoning/reflection- heart and mind; [Refer 16:78; 32:09; 67:23] We know things only by knowing their name {recognizable code} and dimensions/ features. And we can perceive them only when we have converted both as neurological interpretation and observation and saved/captivated them in the memory {عقل}. The faculty of listening is for recognizing the name/code of the things; vision {بصر not نظر which refers to eye ball, mere looking/glancing} determines the dimension/features by focusing eye sight on some thing and heart and brain interpret and determine its compatibility with other things which enable its storage/captivation in the memory of the brain. Memory is like the hard disk and heart is like the monitor of computer. Data stored in the memory is useless and meaning less until it can be retrieved and seen on the screen of the monitor. If the screen of the computer or the heart of a man becomes blind, the data stored in the memory/hard disk would be of no value even it could be retrieved since it would be merely dots/ neurological signal. Knowledge, in relation to human beings, means the data/information captivated in the memory which could be retrieved and converted into physical action and narration. Any data, which cannot be retrieved from memory and translated into action and thrown into the air as recognizable speech, is something which could not be termed as knowledge. Knowledge is something which could be stated:
"Ar Rehman {Personal name of Allah}, He taught The Quran. He created man. Gave him the know-how of expressing/explaining/stating knowledge" {Refer 55:01-04}. Knowledge is something which could be communicated to others; which could be explained in words:
"Have We not made for man two eyes?
And one tongue and two lips? {these are main articulators that produce recognizable words}
And pointed out to him two conspicuous ways? {freedom of choice/action to adopt}" {Refer 90:08-10} The faculty of communicating/explaining knowledge is dependent upon main articulators of sound, tongue and lips which convert the buzzy sound created by the vocal cord into recognizable speech. Allah has informed, in the Qur'aan that everything was created in measure and then disciplined in a cohesive single unit by the choice of attraction and repulsion amongst things. The purpose of disciplining every created thing was to make it easy for comprehension and perception of human beings since the objective of entire creation was to expose who among human beings conducts himself in an appropriate and balanced manner. The purpose of creation is explained: {Allah created seven skies and earth} "for exposing/testing you; who amongst you people acts moderately/nicely/balanced" {Refer 11:07}
"We have made whatever is on earth as attraction in her so that We may expose/test them as to who amongst them performs moderate/balanced/nice acts" {Ref 18:07}
"Allah is The One Who created matter and life, for exposing/testing you people, as to who amongst you performs moderate/balanced/nice acts" {Refer 67:02} There is nothing other than that what has been mentioned in these verses
which human beings could perceive. All creation is for one purpose; who
amongst us acts What is the importance of relationship between علم {knowledge} and عمل {deliberate act}? Allah explained the importance of relationship:
And Allah created you people; thereafter determined period of life He separates you {from people}
And there is someone from amongst you whom He gradually returns towards pitiable period of life;
so that he may not trace/separate/locate something {know it} after having its knowledge. {Refer 16:70} On birth man joins the group of people. And after completion of his term of life he dies and gets separated from other human beings. These are the two extremities of human life. It has been said that in between these two extremes there is a knowledgeable person who is gradually returned to a state where he can not know knowledge earlier attained/gained by him. One could wrongly perceive that this particular man could be of any age from birth to death forgetting that it happens only when a man has attained knowledge. It has specifically been highlighted that it happens only in full maturity.
"And We cause whom We desire/will to rest/stay in the wombs for a determined time, thereafter lapse of appointed time We bring you out as an infant, thereafter you reach full strength/maturity" What happens in this strengthen maturity?
And amongst you there is one who is separated [by death] and amongst you there is another who is gradually returned towards pitiable period of life;
a life that he may not trace/separate/locate something after having its knowledge. {Refer 22:05}
It is thus evident that a man is
gradually returned to
"And when children amongst you {completed childhood} have reached adolescence" {Ref 24:59}
"And come not nigh to the orphan's property, except which is the best way, until he attain the age of full strength" {Refer 06:152}
"And when he attained his full manhood, We gave him decision power and knowledge" {Refer 22:12}
"And when he attained his full maturity, and became a grown up man, We gave him decision power and knowledge" {Refer 28:14} It has been stated that some man
in the age of strengthen maturity onwards is slowly and gradually
returned to
The word
يُرَدُّ
does not permit that the process of returning towards
Two points need to be noted; one, Qur'aan has not called it a disease. It is an inability. The loss of ability of performing the act of segregating, search to find {يَعلَمَ}, locate, know. The second point is that it does not denote the loss of knowledge the effected person had attained in life up to that point of time. It does not reflect memory loss or deletion of data from the brain. It only reflects that the access to that data is being denied to the affected person for the purpose of retrieving it. And failure to retrieve data/information from the brain incapacitates that person to perform the desired act عمل, an act by design/command/decision. This man gradually losses command over his body organs/cells which keep performing all those acts which they perform in accordance with the built in data/information stored therein. All of them become independent and self directed, no more subservient or under control/will of the "person" of that body. The human body and "person" are two distinct entities. The "person" is reflected/represented by "will and decision". Perhaps Alzheimer's disease at its last stage can help people to reflect and understand who is the "real man" in the body of a human being. Physical body is visible in a most pitiable shape but the "real man" who was once the holder of that beautiful body is no more visible. It seems to me from the information given by the Qur'aan that it may not have connection to hereditary reasons. At both the places word "مِنكُم"has been used which means "from amongst you", those being addressed by the Qur'aan; all humanity. It therefore means that the effected person could be anyone. I am not a scientist nor a brain specialist. However I could point out some information and clues from the Grand Qur'aan for their attention and research for the welfare of the humanity. If a person cannot retrieve the data which he had stored in the memory; it can be inferred that someone has come in between that "person" and his data. And because of the presence of hindrance that "person" cannot reach to his data.
"And you people may know that Allah is the One who transmits/and (or) creates a barrier in between the brain and his heart" {Refer 08:24} I am aware of my incapability of conveying my perception in a lucid manner, therefore, I request the reader to please concentrate on the words of Qur'aan to get a comprehensive perception of what the Book is telling. We know that the intellect/data is stored in the memory and for communicating it to someone else in his language, the data/thought/perception is to be first brought to the chest; an air pressure will be created which will pass through the vocal cord converting that thought into a particular buzzy sound which will then be articulated with the help of tongue and lips to become recognizable speech. If the data is not transferred/transmitted by someone {say by cells/neurons} from its storage place to the chest could we say a word despite there being nothing wrong with the entire system of speech? In simple words we can say that someone {or something} has become a barrier between the brain and the chest resulting in hindrance to the flow of data. Let us carefully listen to the Book:
"O You who say have believed, listen to Allah and listen to His Messenger, and do not turn away from him when you are listening. And do not be like those who say "We have heard" but the fact is they do not listen.
"Indeed, in the sight of Allah the worst of the animals are the deaf and the dumb, those who do not reflect/interpret {captivate knowledge}"
And if Allah had found any symptom of good in them He would have made them listen. And if He had made them listen {Since there are no such symptoms, inclination/desire on their part} they would have turned away avoiding listening.
O You who say have believed, answer/respond to Allah and answer/respond to the Messenger when he calls you towards what will give you life.
And you people may know that Allah is the One who transmits/and (or) creates a barrier in between the brain and his heart" {Refer 08:20-24} A deaf is the one who is unable to hear and metaphorically is referred to a person who is unresponsive or indifferent to respond to something as if unable to hear it. And dumb is a person who is unable to speak/respond; and is also referred to a person showing low level of intelligence. Listening does not merely mean the vibration of ear drum. Unless that what has created the vibration is interpreted it cannot be saved/captivated in the memory of the brain. And the basic meaning of the Arabic word "عقل" and "يعقلون" is an act of withholding, binding, to bound something; عقال means rope; it is also used as meaning an act of compressing, equivalent to الجماع [The act of compressing one's wife]; "to captivate", "imprison", "save and to make safe"," confine". المعقل means "the place to which one has recourse for protection". A meaningful listening is the one which has been interpreted and saved in the memory. Those who do not listen carefully are like the deaf and dumb who had not captivated/saved the data in their memory "عقل" and in the absence of data in the memory nothing can be spoken like a dumb person. Allah asked the people to listen attentively so that you can answer the call. Only those can answer the call who had listened what was being stated. And gave this information that Allah transmits the data from memory/"عقل" to one's heart and also creates/becomes barrier between the two, brain and heart. Answering the call means accepting it. And this acceptance is too with the will and approval of Allah since He is the one Who transmits/transfers data from brain to heart/chest to create the sound to be converted by will of the man into words with the help of articulators. This has further been clarified:
"The answer/response/utterance from mouth of the Believers when called towards Allah and His Messenger, in order that he may judge between them, is only that they say "We have listened and we have accepted". They are the one who are successful" {Refer 24:51} Only those people can respond to a call who had listened it carefully; interpreted it and saved it in their memory. And this enabled them to respond. One responds on the strength of data in his memory and for response he has to say {قول} from mouth with his tongue and two lips. And it becomes possible only when data is transmitted from the brain to the heart/chest and this transfer takes place not by the will/or some movement/conscious action of the person. This is done by someone else. Allah says He does it and if He decided to act as a barrier nothing could come out from the brain to enable the person to utter it from his mouth. So even the positive response in the shape of an utterance to the call of the Messenger and Book is with the tacit permission/approval of Allah since He let the data get transferred from the brain to the heart/chest. And this is said in simplest words:
"And it is not possible for anyone to accept except with the tacit will/permission of Allah. And leaves those remain in confusion who do not reflect/interpret/captivate what is being told"{Ref 10:100} After listening these verses of the Qur'aan please read information about the "Alzheimer's disease", the message will become very simple to comprehend and understand. The problem with the people unfortunately effected by it is only one; they do not have access to the data stored in their memory. A barrier has been created between their "عقل" mind and the heart "قلب"because of which data is not being transmitted/transferred. And the man is unable to locate/trace it. I appreciate the efforts of Americans, and in particular pay respects to Late President Ronald Reagan and his wife Nancy for their wonderful work to fight against this particular phenomenon faced by millions of people in present days. In view of the fact that Qur'aan has restricted this phenomenon to those people who have reached strengthened maturity and onwards, I suggest to the researchers to investigate the sex habits of the effected person. And if he is fond of illicit sex particularly oral sex he be advised to refrain from it. If I advise it this may be infringement of rights of someone but as a medical advice it may yield result. This will give another line of investigation.
May I also suggest that experiment may also be made by restraining use
of pork meat? And instead honey be made the regular part of his diet,
preferably in a glass of water, since it is the only liquid about which
it has been said
And perhaps it is matter of common knowledge that all our willful acts
are caused by the desire to satisfy the appetite/attractions/lust of
three areas of our body; chest/heart, stomach and the genitalia. There
is no other point where we have an appetite.
The only area where human research could yield results is widening the
gap from the point of returning to the point of reaching
And say, "My Lord! Increase my knowledge" {Refer 20:114} It seems to me that this prayer is also specifically meant for such people who are effected by this phenomenon, which today we refer as Alzheimer's disease. Their data becomes contracted/ absorbed somewhere in the brain. The word is from the Root ز ى د and it has been used against a word which means "to contract; get inside; get absorbed".
"Allah knows what all females carry; and how much uteruses contract and how much they expand" {Ref:13:08} Therefore, if a man effected by the contraction/absorption of his data/knowledge says these words: "ربِّ زِدنِى عِلمًا" it will, for him, carry the meanings "My Lord, help me retrieve knowledge". I am confident that for a Christian and Jew it won't be embarrassing to address their Lord in Arabic words. I pray to Allah that He may shower mercy and be kind with all those whom He has effected with this phenomenon and make all of us, particularly the Jews, Christians and Muslims understand the importance and relationship between "علم"{knowledge/intellect/data/information stored/saved in memory} and "عمل"{act of retrieving and translating knowledge into action / movement} on both of which depends the result and the real life hereafter.
