Ibn Faris [died
1005] stated:
(مقاييس اللغة)
الهمزة واللام وما بعدهما في المعتلّ أصلان متباعدان:
أحدهما الاجتهاد* والمبالغة [والآخر التقصير] والثاني خلاف ذلك الأوّل
That it has divergent - contrast meanings of diligence,
jurisdictive, hyperbole disposing, and other is falling short of what was
requisite or what is ought, default.
Lane's Lexicon: He fell short; or he
fell short of doing what was requisite, or what he ought to have done;
or he flagged, or was remiss; ---

أُلُوٌّ, meaning I did not leave, quit, cease from, omit, or
neglect, the thing, or doing it.

Semantic domain: Performance
Performance denotes the accomplishment of a given task
measured against known standards of accuracy and completeness.
It conveys meanings of execution, carrying out, carrying
into action, the act of performing; doing something successfully, any
recognized accomplishment.
In a contract - marriage, performance is deemed to be the
fulfillment of an obligation, in a manner that releases the performer
from all liabilities under the contract. It is the obligation of the
husband to maintain and perform the ultimate matrimonial association -
intercourse with the wife. A husband can cease from performing it, in
such cases his discretion is subjected and restricted to a time-frame:

Period of self-restraint is
restricted to four months for conclusive decision
for those husbands who
undertake
an oath - to cease performing intimate matrimonial relation with their wives.

Thereby, if husbands
compromised and re-established matrimonial relation:
-
In that case Allah the Exalted is indeed Oft-forgiving-overlooking faults, the
Merciful.
[2:226]
Similarly, feeding and financially helping the deserving
people is an obligation of rich and affluent. They should not cease
doing it:
-
Take note,
the holders of resources and affluence amongst you people, capable of donating some
resources, should not cease:
-
That they donate-give to
near of kin, and the destitute, and those who migrated in the way of
Allah the Exalted.
-
Moreover, they should pardon and should leave
aside/ignore/overlook
[if they felt annoyed by them].
-
Do you people not vehemently
desire that Allah the Exalted may grant forgiveness for you people?
-
Acknowledge that Allah the
Exalted is the
Forgiving/Overlooking, the Merciful. [24:22]
Similarly some people seize and desist not in their
activities with negative objectives against others:
-
O those people/you who
proclaim to have
accepted-become believers, listen;
-
You should
not associate with people other than your community as
soul mates. They cease and desist not exploiting your weakness.
They yearned for what rendered you
distressed.
-
The grudge, hatred and resentment has become evident
by their
utterances. And what their chests are concealing is much greater
than their evident resentment.
-
Indeed, We have explicitly
explained for you people Aaya'at:

Performance is with reference to accomplishment of a
task. Thereby, the accomplished performance:
-
will mean and refer only to what is talked about - individual piece of
work of particular nature:
-
They were asked: "Is your rejection
only because you people felt it strange that the
Memoir/ Referential/Reference Book, an explicit verbal discourse, has
come to you from your Sustainer Lord by revelation upon the Man of
staunch monotheist belief amongst you? Its objective is that he might alarm
and admonish you;
-
And recall when He the Exalted appointed you the rulers after the fall/annihilation of
the nation of Noah
[alai'his'slaam];
and demographically increased you
quite extensively.
-
Therefore, remember and acknowledge the blessings of Allah
the Exalted;
-
Adopt this attitude so that you
might attain-reap the fruits of
perpetual success." [7:69]
-
And recall when He the Exalted appointed you the rulers after the annihilation of
the civilization Aad;
-
And established you people in the
Land
the plains of which you adopt for palaces;
-
And you people carve out the mountains for
houses.
-
Therefore, remember and acknowledge the blessings of Allah
the Exalted;
-
And you should not like mischief-doers
create intellectual distortions-conjectural myths-disquiet in the
society." [7:74]

Ar'Reh'maan, the Exalted has created the Man. He was corporeally created from sand-mixed
crinkled-clay, alike the baked admirable - excelled - outstanding pottery.
[55:14]
-
However, He the Exalted created the
Species Jinn shaped from
a part of jouncing-fidgety-disconcerting
mingling flame
emerging from
fire. [55:15]
-
Therefore which of the innovative styles of
creation of the Sustainer Lord of you will you both contradict?
[55:16]
-
Heat emanating from ignited
fire and evaporated smoke of the
molten brass will be sent upon you both species.
-
Thereat, you both will not be
able to protect yourselves. [55:35]
-
Therefore, which of the
arrangement/mode/preparedness for punishing the criminals by your Sustainer Lord, you
both will contradict? [55:36]
