Descriptive writing

The primary purpose of descriptive writing is to describe a person, place or thing in such a way that a picture is formed in the reader's mind. Capturing an event through descriptive writing involves paying close attention to the details by using all of your five senses.

Descriptive writing shares the following characteristics:

Good descriptive writing includes many vivid sensory details that paint a picture and appeals to all of the reader's senses of sight, hearing, touch, smell and taste when appropriate. Descriptive writing may also paint pictures of the feelings the person, place or thing invokes in the writer. Good descriptive writing often makes use of figurative language such as analogies, similes and metaphors to help paint the picture in the reader's mind.
Good descriptive writing uses precise language. General adjectives, nouns, and passive verbs do not have a place in good descriptive writing. Use specific adjectives and nouns and strong action verbs to give life to the picture you are painting in the reader's mind.
Good descriptive writing is organized. Some ways to organize descriptive writing include: chronological (time), spatial (location), and order of importance. When describing a person, you might begin with a physical description, followed by how that person thinks, feels and acts.

Descriptive Text

1. Definiton
descriptive text is a text that describes what kind of person or an object described, good shape, properties, and other numbers. Goal (purpose) of the descriptive text was clear, namely to explain, DESCRIBE or disclose an individual or an object.

2. Structure
When writing descriptive text, there are several sets of common / generic structure (actually not mandatory) that our writing is considered correct. The order is:
1. Identification: contains the identification of matter / a will be described.
2. Description: contains the explanation / description of the thing / person to mention a few properties.

3. Languange Features
-. The use of adjectives and compound adjectives.
– Using the simple present tense.

Style feature of a descriptive text - The use of short sentences, for clarity of description; - The use of verbs in simple present and past; - The richness and variety in the use of terms, which is essential to provide a clear, accurate and representative conception of the referent and its components.

And Allah the Exalted has struck an example of a contrast between two men;
One of those two is dumb. His circumstances are that he does not have any wherewithal.
And he is all by himself responsible and wholly dependent upon his master.
Wherever should he the master send him; he would not come back with anything good.
Answer yes or no, whether a person and another person equate [in public eye]; where one is he just mentioned and another is he who dictates matters to public with justice and equity;
And he is thus moving upon the High road: Course that keeps heading safely and straight to the destination of peace and tranquility. [16:76]
