الفاء واللام والقاف أصلٌ
صحيحٌ يدلُّ على فُرْجةٍ وبَيْنُونةٍ في الشيء، وعلى تعظيمِ شيء.
That it leads to the perception of fissure and split,
division, separation, triangular spacing-aperture-gap, disunion in a
thing; and to express exaltation for a thing.
Lane's Lexicon:

فَلْقٌ,
He split it,
clave it, or divided it lengthwise;
