الحَرُّ: ضِدُّ البَرْد

It is contra. of cold, coolness, icy. It signifies heat, temperature.

Semantic Domain: Temperature

Temperature is a bodily sensation communicated to the brain by thermo-receptors in the skin. Temperature is also a mental perception, based on the information communicated by these thermo-receptors and integrated with world knowledge and memories. Thermal comfort or discomfort is an emotional or affective experience referring to the subjective state of the observer.

Heat involves stochastic (or random) motion equally distributed among all degrees of freedom

Heat is the amount of energy flowing from one body of matter to another spontaneously due to their temperature difference, or by any means other than through work or the transfer of matter

heat, thirst, to become hot, to intensify, volcanic rocky land, free person, to liberate, the best of anything, to dedicate to the service of Allah.

When you bring two objects of different temperature together, energy will always be transferred from the hotter to the cooler object.  The objects will exchange thermal energy, until thermal equilibrium is reached, i.e. until their temperatures are equal.  We say that heat flows from the hotter to the cooler object.  Heat is energy on the move.
Units of heat are units of energy.  The SI unit of energy is Joule.  Other often encountered units of energy are 1 Cal = 1 kcal = 4186 J, 1 cal = 4.186 J, 1 Btu = 1054 J.

Without an external agent doing work, heat will always flow from a hotter to a cooler object.  Two objects of different temperature always interact.  There are three different ways for heat to flow from one object to another.  They areconduction, convection, and radiation.
