1005] stated:
(فحش)
الفاء والحاء والشين كلمةٌ تدلُّ على قُبحٍ في شيء وشَناعة. من ذلك الفحْش
والفَحْشاء والفاحشة. يقولون: كلُّ شيء جاوَزَ قَدرَه فهو فاحش؛
That it
leads to the perception of features of ugliness, deformity,
repulsiveness in a thing; and it refers to every thing when it has gone
out of its measure.
Lane's
Lexicon: فَحُشَ , aor.
فَحُشَ , inf. n.
فُحْشٌ and
فَحَاشَةٌ, It (a thing, or an affair, or anything,
or any evil thing, was, or became, excessive, immoderate, enormous,
exorbitant, beyond measure, or overmuch;
Semantic
domain: Immoderate behaviour
The basic perception is that of indulging in
excessive, immoderate, or beyond measure with reference to generally or
universally accepted norms, limits and measures of behaviour. The
perception and meanings of the Root have built in subjective and
relational element. Moreover, because the excessive, immoderate and extremist
tendencies are universally looked upon with dislike, abomination,
repulsiveness, and
unacceptability, therefore, it has inherent negative element.
For reason
of built-in subjective and relational element, it is the context and
related field which will determine and expose its meanings with
reference to that context; and in definite state generally about the
irrational, unnatural, obscene, pervert and excessively emotional sexual
conduct.
This Root is mostly used in Grand in
relation to immoderate, abnormal and lustful unnatural sexual pursuits
and behaviour:

O you the Mankind!

eat selectively from the produce of the Earth
that which is permissible and
characteristically beneficial and nutrient

Take note, you people
should not purposely follow the trails of Shai'taan—Satanic
inspirations;

It is a fact
that he is contentious, antagonistic enemy for you people. [2:168]

He-Shai'taan
certainly inspires-allures
you people only to indulge in imbalanced-improper-irrational conduct and
sexual perversion;

And
that you might tell others something attributing to Allah the
Exalted about which you do
not personally
have the authentic knowledge-verified
whether it is written in Qur'aan or is established by tangible
evidence. [2:169]

with same gender, or with opposite gender that might lead to intercourse of genitalia [furr'ej]
with mutual consent, called uz'zina;

Shai'taan: the
Satan
mumbles to you the
likelihood of poverty by
spending in Allah's cause
and he prompts you people to indulge in
shameless sexual obsessive attitude.

And Allah the Exalted
holds out for you the promise of pardon and bounty of His grace.

Moreover remember
that Allah the Exalted has domain beyond bounds-limits. He is eternally
the all-Knowing. [2:268]

O those/you who
proclaim to have
accepted-become believers, listen;
-
You people should not
purposely follow the trails of Shai'taan—Satanic
inspirations;
-
Mind it,
whoever purposely follow
the trails of Shai'taan—Satanic
inspirations shall doom since
he inspires—allures
to indulge in sexual perversion and imbalanced/improper/irrational
conduct.
-
Take note; had there
been not the bounty of Allah upon you people and His Mercy:
[Qur'aan]
-
Not a single one of
you people could ever have elevated-sanctified-rationally exalted;
-
But Allah
the Exalted
elevates-sanctifies-grants wisdom for whom He so decides.
-
Remain
cautious; Allah the Exalted is eternally the Listener; the Absolute
Knowledgeable. [24:21]
to be excessive, immoderate or beyond measure, to be foul, to be
obscene, to act in an indecent way, to be shameless, to use obscene
language, to commit adultery, abomination, foul, vile deed. An excess, an
enormity, anything exceeding the bounds of rectitude.
