Lane Lexicon: He awakened him, (S, Mgh, Msb, K,) مِنْ نِوْمِهِ from his sleep; (S;) as also ↓ يقّظهُ , inf. n. تَيْقِيظٌ; (K;) and ↓ استيقظهُ . (TA.) ― -b2- (tropical:) He roused his attention, لِلْأُمُورِ to the things, or affairs;

  • And you would have deemed them awake but the fact is they were fast asleep —

  • And Our Majesty kept turning them on their right and left sides.

  • And their dog was lying in condition stretching his forelegs at the entrance —

  • If you had looked upon them you would have certainly turned away from them running — and you would have been impressed from them terrifyingly. [18:18]
