Ibn Faris [died 1005] stated:

(مقاييس اللغة)

اللَّامُ وَالطَّاءُ وَالْفَاءُ أَصْلٌ يَدُلُّ عَلَى رِفْقٍ وَيَدُلُّ عَلَى صِغَرٍ فِي الشَّيْءِ

That it leads to the perception of gentleness, leniency, kindness, friendly and to smallness in a thing.

Lane's Lexicon: It (a thing) was small, or little; (S, Msb, K, KL;) and slender, thin, or fine: (K, KL:) and elegant, or graceful.

  • Indeed my Sustainer Lord is au fait of all niceties and delicacies, subtlety, refinements in what He wills/desires.

  • Certainly, He the Exalted is intrinsically the Fountain of knowledge of visible and invisible domains; and the Infinitely Just Supreme Administrator of the created realm." [12:100]

  • And for this Our Majesty revived them to their original state so that they may question among themselves.

  • One of the participant of talk asked, "How long have you stayed here?"

  • Some of them replied, "We have stayed for a day or just a part of a day."

  • Others said" [Don't be conjectural] Your Sustainer Lord fully knows how long you have stayed here.

  • Therefore, send one of you with this coin of yours towards the city, then let him see which of the meal is purer/nutritious —

  • Whereby he should bring eatable provision from that; and he should be cautious and neither should he let anyone have clue about you. [18:19]

  • Have you not seen-reflected-studied that Allah the Exalted dropped water from the Sky —

  • Whereby the Earth becomes [active participial] source of greenery—life-photosynthesis.

  • Certainly Allah the Exalted is eternally Aware-Knowledgeable au fait of all niceties and delicacies-subtlety-refinements. [22:63]

  • [Reverting to Luq'maan's advisory session] "O my son! it is a fact that if there be a small thing like the grain/seed from a mustard plant —

  • Whereby it may be in a rock or in the Skies or in the Earth, Allah the Exalted would bring it to limelight.

  • Certainly Allah the Exalted is eternally Aware-Knowledgeable au fait of all niceties and delicacies-subtlety-refinements. [31:16]

  • And you all [address to wives] remember and mention that which is recited word by word in your houses from the Aa'ya'at of Allah and the pearls of wisdom —

  • It is a certain fact that Allah is eternally Aware/Knowledgeable au fait of all niceties and delicacies/subtlety/ refinements". [33:34]

  • Allah the Exalted is au fait of all niceties and delicacies - subtlety - refinements with regard to His subjects. He grants sustenance [in abundance] for whom He so wills/desires.

  • Realize it, He the Exalted is the Absolutely Almighty, Absolutely Dominant. [42:19]

  • [why don't you consider simple realities] Would He not know who has created?

  • Know it; He is eternally Aware-Knowledgeable au fait of all niceties and delicacies-subtlety-refinements [67:14]
