Ibn Faris [died 1005] stated:

(مقاييس اللغة)

تدلُّ إحداهما على العَتْب والعَذْل، والأخرى على الإبطاء.

That it signifies admonition, gentle reproof, friendly reproach and rebuke, censure, blame.

  • O those/you who proclaim to have accepted-become believers, listen;

  • In case someone of you purposely averts from his Code of Conduct-Prescribed Procedure: Islam:

  • Thereby, Allah the Exalted will soon bring people in place of such deserters; He the Exalted will appreciate and approve them for nearness and they will aspire for His nearness —

  • They will be humble and docile towards believers; stern and overpowering upon non-believers —

  • They will struggle with wealth and self in the cause of Allah the Exalted —

  •  And they will not be apprehensive and afraid of the reproach of a slanderer.

  • This is the grace and blessing of Allah the Exalted; He grants it to him who desires it/for whom He so decides.

Root: ف ض ل

  • Moreover remember that Allah the Exalted has domain beyond bounds-limits. He is eternally the all-Knowing. [5:54]

  • اور یاد رہے،اللہ تعالیٰ کے صاحب علم ہونے کی وسعت لامحدود ہے۔


  • She said, "Then that is the phenomenon about which you objurgated me saying his attraction has pierced into my heart —

  • And yes, I seduced him to elicit him meet my desire. Thereat, he remained firm to his resolve [and ran away to the exit door].

  • I have denied that which you people kept sharing in association with me in foretimes."

  • The distorters-wrong doers are certainly the people for whom a severe punishment is in wait. [14:22]


  • And you should not render your hand chained towards your neck —

  • This is the segment of that which Your Sustainer Lord have verbally communicated to you the Messenger [Sal'lallaa'hoalaih'wa'salam] to convey to people as pearls of Wisdom —

  • And to tell everyone, "you should not assign and declare along with Allah the Exalted another iela'aha: godhead —

  • Failing which you will confront Hell-prison, condemned and discarded/abandoned." [17:39]


  • Exception to this preservation of genitals is in the state when they wish to expose it upon their spouses, and/or by a husband upon the wife who was taken in wedlock from amongst immigrant believing women in their asylum- protection and obligation.

  • Thereby, they are certainly the people who are other than condemned-culpable ones. [23:06]


  • Thereat, for reason of having slipped and fallen in Sea, certain male Whale made effort and swallowed him whole, while he was in sluggish state awaiting and expecting help for rescue. [37:142]
