Ibn Faris [died 1005] stated:

(مقاييس اللغة)

الشين والهاء والحرف المعتل كلمة واحدة، وهي الشّهوة. يقال: رجلٌ شَهْوانُ، وشيءٌ شَهِيّ.

That it signifies desire, longing, yearning; it refers lustful, erotic, libidinous, over-sexed man. and appeasing, delicate, stimulating or appealing thing.

Lane Lexicon: It [food &c.] was good, sweet, pleasant, or the like. Desire, or longing, or yearning, of the soul for a thing; (Er-Rághib, Msb, TA;) [meaning for a thing gratifying to sense: or eager, or intense, desire; particularly for such a thing;

It is used both in the meanings of sexual desire, lust and in the meanings of strong desire, impulse, urge for something appealing and pleasant.


  • Know it; the love of erotic predilections - stimulators has become alluring for the people (Men), fetish from the women

Grand Qur’ān teaches the subject of Human Sexuality   Root: ز ى ن

  • And liking for having sons has become a longing for people

  • So has become the desire to have a state of hoarded abundance of Gold and Silver

  • And the marked-pedigree horses [top of the line products], and abundance of herbivore-mammals/livestock, and for plenty of harvesting lands.

  • This is the wealth-sustenance-provision of the transitory worldly life.

  • Mind it that Allah the Exalted grants the most appropriate return and abode by His Grace. [3:14]


  • And Allah the Exalted repeatedly intends to turn to you people mercifully.

 

  • And be careful; those who affectionately and diligently submit to the lusts all sorts strongly and persistently desire that you too might get deeply inclined towards such lustful pursuits. [4:27]


  • Indeed you people come to certain men lustfully-heterosexuality apart from wives.

  • The fact is that you are the people who commit lewdness/excesses/extremities." [7:81]


  • Thereafter, the later generations who succeeded them in timeline discarded the As-sa'laat: Time Bound Protocol of Servitude and allegiance. And they pursued selfish desires, lusts and conjectural fascinations.

  • Thereby, soon will they confront devastating result [19:59]


  • Why is it that you people come to men lustfullyheterosexuality apart from wives?

  • The fact is that you people act on passions/lusts". [27:55]



In the meanings of strong desire, impulse, urge for something pleasant.

  • And they ascribe-declare Angels as daughters for Allah the Exalted; Glory is for Him the Exalted, His pleasure is the focus of all effort; and He is Exalted above all what they conjecturally associate with Him

  • While they ascribe what they vehemently desire to have (sons) as a source of pride and strength for them. [16:57]

  • And when one of them is congratulated with news of daughter's birth, his face is veiled blackish,  becoming exhibitor of  darkened expression

  • They being far distant, they will not listen the faintest sound of her.

  • And they are in Paradise where it will be available whatever their selves desired, for ever. [21:102]


  • And a barrier would have been placed between them and what they were vehemently desiring [acceptance of their so called belief at last moment] as was done with peoples of their nature/class in the foretimes [when people declared to have accepted on seeing the infliction]

  • It is certain that they remained plunged in doubt/skepticism, the doubt having characteristic trait of causer of disquiet, irritation, and disconcert. [in accepting the word of Messengers]. [34:54]

  • We were your companions/caretakers in the life of world and are so in the Hereafter

  • And whatever your selves desire it is already arranged therein (Paradise) for you people

  • And whatever which you people will ask it will be served for you therein [41:31]


  • They will be presented-served in the trays made from gold; and silver plated crystal mugs.

  • Moreover, therein is served what is desired by selves; and the eyes get delighted by presentation beauty.

  • Be pleased, you people therein will be the permanent residents. [43:71]


  • And Our Majesty provided them with fruits and meat which they consciously desire. [52:22]


  • And the flesh of edible birds that which they would individually desire [56:21]


  • And fruits which they desire. [77:42]
