The basic perception infolded in the Root is that of

Lane Lexicon: He abstained (S, O, Msb, K) from (عن) what was unlawful, (S, O,) or from what was not lawful nor comely or decorous, (M, K,) or from things that should be sacred or inviolable, and base, or carnal, objects of inordinate desire, (TA,) or from a thing: (Msb:) [but it is implied in the K that the verb is used without the expression of the object, or objects; and it is very often so used, as meaning he was abstinent, continent, chaste, virtuous, modest, decent, or decorous:] and ↓ استعفّ signifies the same;


  • Donating the gifts secretively is particularly for those needy people who have been restricted-restrained to their places for the cause of Allah the Exalted.

  • صدقات(اپنی مرضی سے بے لوث خرچ)کا بہترین استعمال ان حاجت مندوں کے لئے ہے جنہیں اللہ تعالیٰ کی راہ اجاگر کرنے پر مامور کر دیا گیا ہے۔

  • They do not find it feasible for openly striking; transiting in the Earth-society.

  • یہ لوگ  باہر زمین میں کھلے عام نکل کر جستجوئے رزق کا نہ شوق  رکھتے ہیں نہ وقت نکال سکتے ہیں۔

  • The emotional man of superficial understanding presumes them self-sufficiently rich because of their self-restraint, self-respect and composedness.

  • جذبات  پرست و شناسا ان کو شان بے نیازی سے مگن  دیکھتے  ہوئےانہیں  حاجت سے منزہ سمجھتا ہے۔

  • You will recognize them by their visible sign; They do not ask people in frank overtaking manner.

  • آپ انہیں ان کے ظاہری  نشان سے پہچان لیں گے،وہ لوگوں سے  بے تکلف انداز میں لپٹ لپٹ کر سوال نہیں کرتے۔

Root:  س و م

  • And should you spend that which is something advantageous out of the beneficial wherewithal:

  • اور جو کچھ بہتر اشیاء میں سے تم لوگ دوسروں کی خاطر خرچ کروگے

  • For reason of omnipresence, the ever vigilant Allah the Exalted is certainly fully aware of it. [2:273]

  • تو ہر لمحہ تمہارے اعمال زیر مشاہدہ ہونے کے سبب یقیناً اللہ تعالیٰ اس کے متعلق مکمل علم رکھتے ہیں۔


  • Thereat, subject to having observed intellect, sound judgment, rectitude of action and good management of affairs in them, you thereby release their inherited property-wealth to them.

  • And during this period you should not consume it (inheritance) wastefully and hastily fearing that they (father-Orphans) might grow mature.

Root: س ر ف

  • And should someone (guardian) be affluently self sufficient, thereby, he should remain abstinent from orphan's wealth

  • But if he who is a poor guardian, he should consume for himself what is just and reasonable in accordance with known norms of society.

  • Then when you release their inherited property to them (father-orphans), make it a witnessed occasion upon them.

  • Be mindful; Allah the Exalted is All-Sufficient for reckoning. [4:06]


  • Take note, those people should retain their selves continent and virtuous, who find not wedding opportunity, till such time Allah the Exalted might make them Self-Sufficient out of His Bounty.

  • And regards those Men and Women, being in circumstance that you have the authority for ordering and managing their affair-your House-Servants, who seek the proclamation of independence-freedom-self governance

  • Thereby on their desiring, you the Guardians-House Masters, subject to having found in them sustainable ability-betterment, are hereby commanded to afford them the Written Proclamation of freedom-self governance

  • And you people give/donate them (house-servants) some reasonable wherewithal out of the wealth of Allah the Exalted which He the Exalted has granted to you (Masters of house-servants/serf).

  • Further, you people should not compel your House-Maids towards debauchery since they had willingly opted subjugation-became servant for security of chastity, with the intention that you might obtain apparent gains of worldly life.

  • Mind it, should someone forcefully compels them, thereby, it is a fact that for all that forcefully done in the state of their abhorrence, Allah the Exalted is the Forgiving, the Merciful. [24:33] [accountability is for acts done with will, not for those got done forcefully by others for which they will be responsible]


  • Take note, the aged singles, whether virgins, widows or divorcee in the women folk who have no desire and intention for Nikah -marriage

  • Thereby, no blame - objection shall lie upon them in laying off their extra sheet upon chest in the manner unlike of those women who project their bosoms rendering their selves alluring

  • However, their modestly retaining extra sheets is a better option for them.

  • Remain cautious; Allah the Exalted is eternally the Listener; the Absolute Knowledgeable. [24:60]

  • یہ حقیقت ذہن نشین رہے،اللہ تعالیٰ  ہر لمحہ ہر آواز کو سننے والے ہیں، منبع علم ہیں۔
