080-عَبَسَ


(Explanation Urdu / English)

عَبَسَ وَتَوَلَّـىٰٓ .80:01١

أَن جَآءَهُ ٱلْأَعْمَىٰ .80:02٢

• The rich notable boastful of being self-sufficient scowled-wrinkled his face with annoyance and disgust, and reflexively turned and departed; [80:01]
• He did so on seeing [74:21-25] the Blind Man has come to him-Muhammad [Sal'lallaa'hoalaih'wa'salam] [80:02]

وَمَا يُدْرِيكَ لَعَلَّهُۥ يَزَّكَّىٰٓ .80:03٣

أَوْ يَذَّكَّرُ فَتَنفَعَهُ ٱلذِّكْرَىٰٓ .80:04٤

• And what can give you the Messenger [Sal'lallaa'hoalaih'wa'salam] the perception of his arrival, since you are deeply occupied in advising that he/rich notable might reflexively cause himself to elevate [from polytheism]
• Or he consciously inclines himself to remember the advice and then its recalling may benefit him; [80:03-04]

أَمَّا مَنِ ٱسْتَغْنَىٰ .80:05٥

فَأَنتَ لَهُۥ تَصَدَّىٰ .80:06٦

وَمَا عَلَيْكَ أَ لَّا يَزَّكَّىٰ .80:07٧

• [Arrival of blind man was not noticed] Since you have made yourself deeply occupied in paying  concentrated attention for him who has consciously made himself assume as free from need, though you are absolved of any blame if he is purposely determined not to elevate and purify himself [by leaving idolatry]. [80:05-07]

وَأَمَّا مَن جَآءَكَ يَسْعَىٰ .80:08٨

وَهُوَ يَخْشَىٰ .80:09٩

فَأَنتَ عَنْهُ تَلَهَّىٰ .80:10١٠

• And as for that Blind person is concerned who came to you the Messenger [Sal'lallaa'hoalaih'wa'salam] with affectionate efforts, [80:08]
• he is a person who fears Allah the Exalted. [80:09]
• However, the foretasted reason caused you remain unaware-inattentive of his arrival. [80:10]

كَلَّآ إِنَّـهَا تَذْكِرَةٚ .80:11١١

فَمَن شَآءَ ذَكَرَهُۥ .80:12١٢

فَـى صُحُفٛ مُّكَرَّمَةٛ .80:13١٣

مَّرْفُوعَةٛ مُّطَهَّرَةِ ۭ .80:14١٤

بِأَيْدِى سَفَرَةٛ .80:15١٥

كِرَامِۭ بَرَرَةٛ .80:16١٦

• No, that notable's remark that it is saying of a man is incorrect, the fact is that this is a reminder/admonishment. [80:11]
• Therefore, whosoever so willed he comprehended and mentioned it: Qur'aan;  [from where?] [80:12]
• Written on papyri/papers. These papers are considered exalted-made to contain life saving inscriptions. [80:13]
• These are kept at elevated places; they are kept clear of contaminating additions. [80:14]
• The writing on these papers is by the hands of those scribes who write nicely making every word evident and prominent like unveiled face. [80:15]
• They are honourable, pious and just people. [80:16]

قُتِلَ ٱلْإِنسَٟنُ مَآ أَكْفَرَهُۥ .80:17١٧

• The man [who persistently refuses Qur'aan] be cursed, what kept away discarded; what made him to refuse to accept it? [80:17]

مِنْ أَىِّ شَـىءٛ خَلَقَهُۥ .80:18١٨

مِن نُّطْفَةٛ خَلَقَهُۥ فَقَدَّرَهُۥ .80:19١٩

• Man should reflect from which matter He the Exalted has created him? [80:18]
• He has created him from partial segment/part of single sperm. And then He the Exalted had proportioned him. [80:19]

ثُـمَّ ٱلسَّبِيلَ يَسَّـرَهُۥ .80:20٢٠

ثُـمَّ أَمَاتَهُۥ فَأَقْبَـرَهُۥ .80:21٢١

ثُـمَّ إِذَا شَآءَ أَنشَـرَهُۥ .80:22٢٢

• Thereafter lapse of time [on attaining maturity and free will], He made passage/path convenient/easy for him[with the sent guidance/Aa'ya'at, the Book]. [80:20]
• Afterwards lapse of time [expiry of his term of life] caused him to die for which reason He caused him[segregated/alienated and] placed in grave. [80:21]
• Afterwards/lapse of time when Allah willed He will raise him to life again/scattered among people. [80:22]

كَلَّا لَمَّا يَقْضِ مَآ أَمَرَهُۥ .80:23٢٣

فَلْيَنظُرِ ٱلْإِنسَٟنُ إِلَـىٰ طَعَامِهِۦٓ .80:24٢٤

أَنَّا صَبَبْنَا ٱلْمَآءَ صَبّٙا .80:25٢٥

ثُـمَّ شَقَقْنَا ٱلْأَرْضَ شَقّٙا .80:26٢٦

فَأَنۢبَتْنَا فِيـهَا حَبّٙا .80:27٢٧

وَعِنَبٙا وَقَضْبٙا .80:28٢٨

وَزَيْتُونٙا وَنَخْلٙا .80:29٢٩

وَحَدَآئِقَ غُلْبٙا .80:30٣٠

وَفَٟكِهَةٙ وَأَ بّٙا .80:31٣١

مَّتَٟعٙا لَّـكُـمْ وَلِأَنْعَٟمِكُـمْ .80:32٣٢

• If the man does not fulfill what it/Qur'aan has commanded;
• Then the man should look at his own feed. [80:23-24]
• [what are the processes involved in making it reach him] For his feed We sent water from above, in the manner of pouring/flowing on Earth; [80:25]
• Afterwards We cut path through Earth in the manner of making pores in it [to enable the sprout to be discharged, take birth/come out like the manner of a mother giving birth to a human child]; [80:26]
• And then in her We made visible/emerge/produced the sprout of grain crop/grasses, ( grass; cereal crops, grains; Division: Angiosperm;Class: Liliopsida; Monocotyledoneae)[80:27]
• And grapes and vegetable's shoots; (Angiosperms; Class: Magnolippsida; Dicotyledoneae) [80:28]
• And olive and date plant; [respectively dicotyledonous and monocotyledon] [80:29]
• And the buds characterized with thick necks overpowering [bud scales and "cottony" packing material which gives it overpowering control over coldness] [80:30]
• And fruits and fodder/grass-pasture; [80:31]
• Respectively serving as means of sustenance for you, and for the mammals—livestock of you people. [80:32]

فَإِذَا جَآءَتِ ٱلصَّآخَّةُ .80:33٣٣

يَوْمَ يَفِرُّ ٱلْمَرْءُ مِنْ أَخِيهِ .80:34٣٤

وَأُمِّهِۦ وَأَبِيهِ .80:35٣٥

وَصَٟحِبَتِهِۦ وَبَنِيهِ .80:36٣٦

لِـكُـلِّ ٱمْرِئٛ مِّنْـهُـمْ يَوْمَئِذٛ شَأْنٚ يُغْنِيهِ .80:37٣٧

• Thereby, in fulfillment of the Promise when the Big Bang-Very Loud Sound [by blowing in Trumpet by command of the Sustainer Lord] would have been heard. [80:33].
• That is the Day when the Person will fearfully run away from his brother; [80:34]
• And from his mother and his father; [80:35]
• And from his wife and children. [80:36]
• Self concern will make each person amongst them/Non-Believers-Muna'fi'qeen indifferent towards everything the Day the Bing Bang is heard. [80:37]

وُجُوهٚ يَوْمَئِذٛ مُّسْفِرَةٚ .80:38٣٨

ضَاحِكَةٚ مُّسْتَبْشِـرَةٚ .80:39٣٩

• That Day some faces will be bright/beaming,
• Laughing joyfully/achievement pleasure; [80:38-39]

وَوُجُوهٚ يَوْمَئِذٛ عَلَيْـهَا غَبَـرَةٚ .80:40٤٠

تَرْهَقُهَا قَتَـرَةٌ .80:41٤١

أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ هُـمُ ٱلْـكَفَرَةُ ٱلْفَجَرَةُ .80:42٤٢

• And that Day other faces will seem dust-stained,
• Veiled by blackness, [80:40-41]
• These faces are of the people who deliberately and persistently floated in denial to accept. [80:42]
